Just curious, I know there are a lot of talented 3-4OLB in this draft. But with our 2nd round pick (#61 I think) do you guys think Saap, Hughes, or Noorwood would be there? I think maybe Noorwood (I like Saap of all three) could be there. I say look at trading our 2nd for Ahmad Brooks of SF. I know the guy had issues coming out of college but has kept his nose clean so far in both Cincy and SF. Why not take a shot on him as he turned the corner last year and has 3-4 experience. He had 6 sacks in 5 FF in 14 games last year and was a “situational” pass rusher. His coverage skills are improving and I think this guys style of play (like he got released from an insane asylum) would be a welcomed addition.
I dont like the idea of trading picks but....there is a learning curve and this guy has already been in class for a few years (3)
You must not watch any football bro. Manny Lawson ( a high round pick by the way I think a #1) was replaced by him.... Like I said, I think you see many of the top tier OLB gone by our 2nd round pick...
That doesn't mean you throw your 2nd round pick in the toilet. It means you pick something other than OLB. He's started exactly 7 games in his 4 year NFL career. You don't trade a 2nd rounder for that.
even if it is a need position? and along with DE (Ordick in the 1st) it is...I think we will be fine at CB and my get Cook later on....but OLB is a NEED position for this team because of Vern
What has he done to justify a 2nd round pick??? We spent less on Kris Jenkins, a Pro Bowler. This guy is like the defensive Justin McCariens. I can't believe this is even a thread.
I can't believe you can't believe this is even a thread. this is the Jets forum, where every ridiculous idea is genius.
I think that drinking this heavily on a Monday night is a significant factor in the downfall of the economy. Shame on you, RochesterJet.
well...now that i am sober...the 2nd rounder that we have is much like a 3rd so the 2nd is highly overated. What makes this more difficult ot stomach is that we dont have a 3rd. I f we had a third this would be a better move....I still would like someone to convince me we would find a better player at #61 than Ahmad Brooks....BTW he is like 24 or 25 and Jenkins was a 3rd because he was 32
Our 2nd is highly overrated because it is close to the 3rd round? You could also say that a high 3rd round pick is a 2nd because it is so close...so that makes no sense. This is the most talented draft in a long time and possibly ever, so since we are changing the value of picks I am going to make the argument that our late 2nd highly underrated becasue it is like a 1st round pick in a normal draft. Would you trade a 1st for.....Ahmad Brooks?
Except in this deep draft, a 3rd is essentially a 2nd, so our 2nd which is much like a 3rd is thus much like a high 2nd and you're underrating it. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
