Looks good on paper, hopefully it translates to the field. If Cromartie works hard and studies hard, he could be something special. We know Revis Christ will do his part.
It's all about Antonio Cromartie living up to expectations! If he doesn't it was still a risk worth for a third round pick isn't much for such a high reward kind of player. Cromartie is going to have most of the looks his way. I just hope he doesn't reck our locker room chemistry!
Oakland had that great cb tandem in Lester Hayes and Mike Haynes back in the late seventies early eighties.
I'm really excited about this. Our defense was the best in the league with Revis being the only strong CB on the team, and now we have two PLUS the return of Kris Jenkins. Looking good so far!
That's what I am begging for. We'll get a shit-ton of turnovers if we don't have to keep sending the house to pressure the QB.
Yeah that is very aggravating, I hope we draft defense with our first two picks if good prospects are there. I want an DE, DT, or OLB
Cromartie is an amazing talent. He's such a rare player at 6'2" with that type of ball skills, athleticism, and long arms to make ridiculous interceptions(remember his pick 6 against us in 08). I think it was a great move by the Jets. He played an entire season with a hip fracture and he isn't a zone CB so the past 2 seasons he hasn't been in good situations. Last time he had a pass rush he had 12 interceptions in a season and hes a very good press CB who excels in man to man. I think he will get 6+ interceptions this year and with both Revis and Cro back there, I also expect plenty of coverage sacks. Hopefully I can change my avatar from 1 master lock to 2 by mid season.
The author of this article needs a proofreader- twice he confused Chandler and Jefferson in the article. Chandler didn't play for GB in '81 or at any other time, and it was Jefferson's career that was over by '86, not Chandler's.
watch how this effects the other teams in the afce. they know they can't pass on us, so they will do whatever they can to get players to run on us.
Is that before or after they outlawed stick'em? On topic: If Cormartie can hold up his end of the bargain the Jets are going to have one hell of a secondary.
Stickum was outlawed before the 1981 season. Lester Hayes and Ronnie Lott were the Sporting News 1st team All-Pros in 1981. In 1982 and 1984, Hayes, Mike Haynes (Patriots), and Mark Haynes (Giants) were three of the cornerbacks who were decorated with 1st and/or 2nd team All-Pro honors from the various selecting organizations. Mike Haynes only played five regular season games in 1983, so he was a no-show on All-Pro teams that year.
