I'm reading we stand a good chance of losing Tony Richardson in free agency. That guy was a beast for us and one of the more under appreciated players on the offense. His blocking was a major contributor to us having the #1 ranked rushing offense. If we do lose him, who do you guys think will replace him? We don't have any internal options. Are there any solid FA's? Any FB prospects in the draft? We cannot just allow this position to be taken up by a shitty player.

I read that he wants to play another year and I really don't see him going to another team.

"we don't have any internal options"?

the reason we haven't been very quick to resign richardson is because we have a fullback on our practice squad that the coaching staff is very high on and they want to finally give him his opportunity. he's young and richardson has been mentoring him the past year. anyone know his name?

T-Rich isn't going anywhere. I don't think he's wanting to play for much longer, and where better to wind down then with a team who is now, finally, being taken seriously as a contender.

It's arguably the least important position in football, even if we lose Richardson and he is replaced by a mediocre starter, I don't see our running game taking that big a hit with our O line.

if anything its been talked about too much. FB isnt that important of a position and in the TR thread im pretty sure we have beaten to death that we want him to stay. And to evict Favre.

Serviceable fullbacks are a dime a dozen. I'm not losing any sleep over it.

Problem is, TRich isn't just a servicable fullback. He is a future Hall Of Fame fullback.

Just re-sign Richardson for a year and see if he wants to retire next season. I want to see what Davis can do during the preseason.

If the Jets end up signing LT, Richardson may decide to stay with the team because he'll get another chance to block for one of the best backs of this era.

I don't really give a damn about fullbacks, but Tony Richardson and Lorenzo Neal are two of the most underrated players ever.

If they won't put kickers and punters into the HOF then I can't see them putting in lead blocking fullbacks

Few fullbacks get that kind of attention, but the guy has a laundry list of HOFers that he has opened lanes for. Maybe he gets snubbed, but it would be a crime if it happened.
