I think I've always admired the work of Aaron Schatz of footballoutsiders.com, and I recommend his intelligent takes on pro football. Good example: Schatz posted his 2009 Football Outsiders awards the other day, and this was his line on Darrelle Revis winning FO's defensive player of the year in a rout over Charles Woodson, after the vote of 50 media members actually gave the NFL award in a rout to Woodson: "I'm not sure what the guy [Revis] had to do to actually win Defensive Player of the Year, maybe kill Randy Moss with his bare hands on national television while simultaneously picking off a Tom Brady pass using only his teeth.'' I wish I'd thought of that. Great work. the one thing that really stuck out to me when reading this was... What a joke!! Does he actually believe what hes saying?!?!
Why wouldn't you just post the original Football Outsiders take? It's much more informative than King's quoting it.
I like the outsiders, but I thought there were 3 pieces in King's column relevant to the Jets. The DPOY thing is an old story, he should have won. The Rhodes quote had me rolling as well and I think there is a good chance we will trade down if McCoy is there.
That was a great list. Surprised Sanchez eating the hotdog on the bench wasn't on the funniest moments list. Heywood-Bey.... So happy not to be a Raider fan. For those of us 40+ it's hard to believe what's become of that franchise.
I was at the draft last year, and everyone in my section errupted in laughter when the Raiders picked DHB. A Lions fan in particular was literally on the floor.
