I would love it if we managed to pick up Thomas for two reasons. First, he would be back in Rex's scheme where he thrived. Second, we all know he would love to play the Patriots twice a year and sock it to em.
I like Bart Scott. But... Because of his big mouth, the p-rats is going do everything they can to make sure he doesn't go to the Jets.
I think comparing him to Bryan Thomas is unfair. He's definitely better than Thomas.. and he has much more experience and knowledge of Rex's system. Bryan Thomas is the definition of average. In Rex's system, Adalius flourished and had some really great years. He was obviously never happy or a great fit in New England and was used different. Back in Rex's attacking system, I think he can be a very productive player again. Unfortunately, I think the Pats are going to just squat on his rights until they have to do something with him, because they know his first call will be to the Jets. They'll exhaust literally every option they possibly can to move him, but nobody is gonna trade for him with the money he's due. When he's finally released, if Rex thinks he can use Adalius and can use him the best way, then I'm all for bringing him in. And it wouldnt hurt to stick it to the Pats a little bit either.
sure, but like u said he's familiar to Ryan's system so even if he comes in halfway thru TC I think he'd be fine
He's 33, he's been plagued by injuries, he's not going to be some savior. He'd be the same as acquiring Greg Ellis at this point. He's not the answer. And he's too expensive to rotate 3 OLBs at their salaries.
I guess for depth purposes but seeing how he has been playing these past couple of seasons with a coach who gets the most out of his defensive players, it seems like hes done. Another mentor for the failing Ghost? LT, Pace, and Ryan have all tried helping this pos why not give Thomas a crack at him right haha
true. Then its Gholston, Thomas, and Thomas rotating the weakside OLB spot. All that money into one position. One exact spot and assignment for 3 people. It makes no sense.
I didn't even notice him on the field when the Jets played them. I used to notice a lot of the Pats D guys, though. And I did not notice him in the other Pats games I watched. Not a difference maker. if he still has pure pass rushing skills, maybe in an incentive-laden deal. But not as a starter.
we brought bart scott in here hoping he would rub off on gholston, but in the end the opposite happened. let's not ruin another good line backer
