He was released by Miami, should we pick him up for depth if we can sign him for a good price? He would be a big upgrade over James Ihedigbo, and with Rhodes' future not decided he could be a nice fit (if he leaves) until we find a stud replacement. Here are his career stats:

Voted yes but only if price is right and we trade Rhodes. I like his in the box ability but his coverage ability was always lacking

Yeah Wilson can and will be a starter.

I cant see him wanting to come here in a backup roll, unless he REALLY misses NY

Something about former Dolphins makes me gag, especially when they suck anyway.

You get the exact same thing from Ihedigbo. Why would u cut him to get someone else that's exactly the same and make him a starter?

If we could get a 2nd or a 3rd + 5th for Rhodes I think we could live with Gibril Wilson for a bit. With Cro and Revis in man/press coverage Wilsons poor coverage skills dont become as much of an issue.

However I definitely dont think he should be our top choice or even a priority. Still I think its silly to speculate on us acquiring a new safety when all signs point to Rhodes probably staying right now.

You didnt watch much of the phins last seasson did you?

There is seriously a party on south beach right now, and its about 45 degrees here, which is as cold as it gets. Yet, there is a party on south beach right now celebrating the release of Gibril Wilson.

Oh his coverage skills flat out suck, I even mentioned that in the other thread.

But as far as being a solid tackler hes rather good at that. Im pretty sure hes one of the top tackling safeties out there.

I dont think hes a good idea, but I think he could be satisfactory if we got the right value for Rhodes .

    QFT.

Bring in someone who won't hurt our organization more than it will help.

Yeah, I'm with Hemi. Sign everybody. Sign Peppers and Dansby and Rolle and Wilson and Westbrook and Taylor....just sign everybody.

We already have a younger, cheaper version of that guy in Ihedigbo. Gotta save dough and develop talent somewhere...

Gibril Wilson was a big risk/reward player a few years ago. Now he's evolved into an older version of the same type, only without the reward part. Epic fail by Parcells & Ireland on that signing.

He sucks in coverage already. How he got big contracts in a row is beyond me. I wonder if his agent is Alvin Keels....

    Ahahaha:rofl:

    I'm actually surprised...Keels F'd Leon in the A.

He gets the big money, but apparently doesn't properly weigh the risks. Now that we know this, change my 'hell no' to a 'no fucking way in hell!!!'.
