He's not a # 3 receiver on a good team and he would never settle for being a # 4. He's a pain in the ass and always gets banged up. Turn the page, no Chad, Coles or Baker please. Was anyone impressed by him in the 2 games against the Jets

We put Revis on Ochocinco and dared Coles and the rest of their WRs to beat us. They couldn't. Coles was great in the past, but he's done, and I don't think he'd want to be our slot receiver.

+1 .... Coles was on a Bengals team that needed someoen to step up and be an offensive weapon last year and he failed at it in a big way. I see no need ot add a guy with his injury history that is past his prime.

I think there's a big difference in expectations. Coles was signed up to be a #2 receiver in Cinci. Here he would be a fourth option, after Braylon, Cotch and Keller. I think he could fill that role.

Agreed. This is one reason to throw a few bricks through Chad Pennington's windows. He was the one lobbying for the trade the entire time.

According to Dave Hutchenson, The Jets are Coles' number one choice. He says he really wants to come back.

If Coles wants to come back at a discount and try to reinvent himself as a slot receiver, I guess I'd be okay with it. I could brush off my old #87 jersey.

But he's got to put aside the money issue. He's not worth that much anymore. I don't think any team would pay him a lot.

The question, as it is with everyone, is can he still play? He isn't a starting receiver. He could be a #3 receiver with us if he puts aside his ego and stays healthy.

He'd be replacing David Clowney, so it's not like we'd need a ton from him.

I don't think it's a money thing, he got his guaranteed money last year and he knows he is at the end of the line. Honestly for his health I hope he retires but if he wants to play I'd love to have him back as a 3 guy. We have a really good starting duo, we need depth and he'd help short term w/ that and I think when the 3 guys are on the field together Cotch can move into the slot.

At first I just laughed this off. But it does make some sense. Coles would be the 4th option in the passing game, and there, he could do a little damage if he's got anything left in the tank

I just read on another site, that Coles agent says the Jets will be the first team called if they show any interest.

Coles would be deadly in the slot if healthy. Cotch or Coles, interchangeable in that position.
