I would much rather trade for Marshall than Cromartie. Marshall is a great cover corner and an all around football player. Cromartie likes to cover but the AFC divisional round game proved he is not much for tackling.

Cromartie isn't worth that much. If we can't get him for a day 3 pick I'd be walking away.

yeah, if we are trading for Cromartie, I would want a TJ type deal where we don't give up a pick, but we just trade back a little,

Say its our 2nd, we get back their 3 and Cromartie.

I wouldn't hate that nearly as much, but that said I don't want Cro anywhere near this team.

Even with that nice of a deal I'd say no. There will be talent at positions of need in the second for us.

Crow is a bigger pussy than Rhodes. Think about that.

The only way this works is if the Staff has sights set on one or two guys avaible at the end of round one and they was to fill CB another way. I don;t like it, but it would give tanny more flexibility in the first round of the draft.

He would be an upgrade but if he comes here he better tackle.

I wouldn't trade any pick higher than a 4th Rounder for him; however, I would trade Rhodes for Cromartie IF and ONLY IF we knew we would sign Rolle as well.

Tanny always emphasizes Draft flexibility via filling holes before April. Adding two pieces to the Secondary would do just that.

why are people putting so much weight on the tackling ability of a corner.. I KNOW WHAT HAPPENED WITH GREENE.. and i know that this post could start a whole bunch of shit all over again..

but seriously, if a RB breaks through the middle of our defense, I am not putting that on my CB because he didn't fly in make the tackle...

Cro has a ridiculous ceiling and if the asking price is as low as what ppl are making it seem, I don't see why we wouldn't take him.

He is a tall, fast corner with great hands.. he hasn't been as productive, but I'm sure when he is put into our system, that will change..

I don't know how everyone on the board feels, basically everyone is on board if we get him for a 5th.. but thats not happening... but I wanna see Cro in green and white..

even though Cro was in position to make a tackle

i dont know how i feel about this. i mean the guy has loads of talent, but a large case of deion sanders syndrome. he avoids contact like the plague. i just cant see rex wanting to deal with a guy like that.

You can directly link his success as a DB to Merrimans effectiveness as a pass rusher. I think Rex does a good job getting to the QB.

I'm sure there are other factors involved, but there seems to be a pretty sound correlation there IMO.

To my understanding we could sign Rolle beacuse they are going to release him but the rumor is, that crazy asshole wants 8 mill a year. Ed Reed will make about 7.3 this year I think. That kinda puts it in perspective.

I see Rolle and his contract demands being a Synder special. Maybe Al "Undead" Davis will bite.

I bet you Rex can get him to come here for a lot less than that. Just make him understand that a superbowl ring is more important than the money.(my opinion)

Yea in a perfect world players would think like that but Id be willing to bet only about 2% of the guys in the NFL would think that way. Think about it. You're in the middle of your career looking for your quite possibly last NFL contract. You have a wife, a few houses, 3 kids, and lots of plans for life after the NFL.

The Colts offer you 5 years for 25M.

The Lions offer you 5 years for 40M

    Where are you going?

Maybe it makes me an asshole but Im going to Detroit without question.

Which also means that he isn't a Ryan type of player, so maybe any interest being shown is just a smoke screen to cover interest in someone else they are REALLY interested in.......

Not an asshole at all, I agree with you. I was just kidding about my last post. I understand you have to go where the money is. What kind of contract do you think we would be offering to him?
