Thing is, we don't know anything on how Leon's leg has healed. He could be 100% and you'd want to trade that away? He's the pace changer and a pretty darn good one. I'm not a fan of Michael Bush at all for that matter, he seems to play with only half effort most of the time.

So you'd rather have Greene/Bush than Washington/Greene? We need to also realize that Jones won't be a Jet much longer. Yes, Aso is a GREAT player, he would help Revis huge and the passing game against us would be mostly dead, but, I don't think we need to give up a 1st rounder and Leon. I'm even thinking Oakland would do it for Jones/2nd rounder/6th rounder and a conditional 2011 pick. They need help and Aso's contract is massive, plus I think Aso knows that Oakland isn't going anywhere anytime soon and a championship is a football player's ultimate goal. If he joins the Jets for what I just mentioned, we lose TJ, who we have a younger version of in Greene, so we gain in the end. Also Oakland benefits as well, they get much needed draft picks and a HB who has shown he can still go. I really feel that Tanny knows what to do here and if it's even a remote chance of happening, he'll make it worth it for the Jets.

I also just really want to say that it makes me feel all warm inside when Raider fans really think they will "breakout" in the next year.

    Makes me miss RaiderJoe.

While this analysis is sound as far it goes, it ignores the contractual issue the Raiders and any team trading for him will face. He makes a crazy salary and essentially can be a free agent after this next season (contract says he can't be franchised). So the Raiders will have to pay him over $16M this year and then lose him for nothing in return. That being the case, the asking price has to be far less than the equal trade value you identify. The team trading for him faces the same prospect - paying the guy over $16M and then risking losing him for nothing after one year. So, from that team's perspective as well, the trade value is nowhere near fair market value. I can see the Raiders trading him for simply a 1st rounder.

Any team that gets him will want to fix that bloated contract, if Aso won't do it, I bet he's stuck in Oakland.

I am 190% sure it's Jeaux. No way he shows up back in here after that 38-0 Salad Tossing under his regular name.

No, I didn't mean we offer those players in a trade. I was simply saying to release them and create some $$ to accommodate Nnamdi's contract if he doesn't restructure this yr. Of course, he'd be signing an extension, else theres noway we trade for him. As for Rhodes, I said we can trade him for a pick. That would dump most of his multi million salary. There are reasons to believe Rhodes doesn't want to be in NY and we don't need a malcontent on the D if thats the case.

Are you suggesting Al Davis throws a 1st AND a 2nd along with Asomugha to us? What do we offer then? Nothing and take Raiders 1st, 2nd, and Aso? And my value assessment is skewed? Im pretty sure u meant we give up a 1st and a 2nd for Nnamdi (exactly what I suggested). If not, god help u.

Getting Aso, would be huge for this defense. The blitz schemes that Rex can run with him in the secondary would be amazing. Giving up a first and possibly rhodes, hopefully Al Davis will remember gholston's combine numbers and would want him. Then give Aso a front loaded deal with the uncapped year. Would really make this defense something special. That said, really doubt it happens.

I agree 100%. Let's give this some thought...Gholston was a high draft pick and is making an assload of cash. Wouldn't it make sense to unload that disaster of a contract as well? He isn't doing anything for us and maybe if he goes somewhere where he will start (He might in Oakland) he might grow into a decent player.

    Gholston/Rhodes/2nd
    for
    Aso/4th

I'd really like that one. I know I've been tossing around trade ideas, but, I love this time of year.

So apparently everybody has fired up there PS3 and figured out what it'll take to trade for Aso. Here's a suggestion, if you trade before the offseason starts, teams value your picks more then there own....so people will give a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for our 1st...that's when we need to strike.

If we get out of it without trading a pick, you are talking about giving up a stud from our D. Or two solid players. No thank you to that. We have to trade our 1st for him. Then again you are talking about a dickface who demanded a 4th for a WR that broke several NFL records the moment he got out the black hole. He's also the same person who traded a first for DE that probably won't last longer than 2 years in that shit hole. Talk about dumb and dumber... Lets just hope his 'dumbest' is still on the table when he lets go off Aso, as long Belishit is not involved in the trade.

Im pretty sure the rumor we hear is due to the fact that Aso will be making insane money. Why would he take Lito then? He has like a $10mil bonus due soon. Both players would have to restructure if that is how it would end up.

Sad part is, Pats have something like 5 2nd rounders. I could see the offering 2nd/2nd/4th for Aso straight up.

The Raiders are not going to give him away, first rounder another early round pick and a quality player or 2 will have to go the other way. Even Al Davis wont give this guy away.

I really don't know, he's made some really bad moves over just the last year alone. I really wouldn't be surprised if Davis makes the mistake of sending him away to NE, the more I think about it, last years draft was very good for NE and those 2nd rounders might have more stroke than what we have to offer here.

Would Aso for 2nd/2nd/4th be giving him away in your opinion??

I could see a possibility but I doubt Patriots do that until Aso restructures. The only player Patriots would pay that kind of insane salary would be TB.

To those who are suggesting we can get Aso for a 2nd and a mid round pick, its just not the equivalent value. 4 spots below our 2nd rounder is a 3rd round pick. It has to be a first minimum unless u r willing to part ways with a starter on our D plus a 2nd.
