Just a little before combine fun and a little curiosity, so I pose this question for you If Trindon Holiday runs a 4.1 at his 40 yard dash will the Raiders pick him in the first round? While probably unlikely he goes in the first we all know AL Davis loves his 40 times as seen with Mitchell last year. Like I said this is just a little fun before the combine
No. Not even Al Davis is that stupid...plus he won't run that fast. I could see him reaching for Jacoby Ford early in the second round though. There's no way in hell a 5'5 160 pound return specialist should go any higher than the 5th round. I'm not even sure if Holliday will get drafted.
I wouldnt say this about most guys but when you run a 100 yard dash in 10.08 seconds I think you have a chance to run a 40 yard dash in 4.1
With Al Davis anything is possible If he's dumb enough to select Mike Mitchell as a 2nd round pick he can easily select Holliday in the 1st or 2nd round lol
The fastest Holliday's ever been clocked is 4.27. He's a track guy wearing football pads. He's got little-to-no value outside of the return game. Watch out for the Clemson players: Jacoby Ford has a chance to break the record at the combine. He's been consistently clocked at 4.22. CJ Spiller will also run ridiculously fast.
Of course that's his value unfortunately Al Davis doesnt really have any sense of football, he would draft Usaine Bolt if he declared (which is why I have Taylor Mays going to them in the first). Also I have no doubt Spiller and Ford will have great times they have ran track with Holiday. While I don't think Holiday could run a 4.1 I still think he could do a low 4.2 run
What the hell are you talking about? Those are blazing times, human beings don't really run much faster than that.
I meant in terms of Holiday's speeds, I know those are fuckin amazing times but I thought Holiday would do a little better
Dude, there have been seven guys in the past 20 years to run sub 4.3 40 yard dashes at the combine. If that was the official time, it'd be the 3rd fastest in that period. People do not often run faster than what he did. Holliday is a fast man, but it's not like he's the fastest person that has ever lived, or even, in my opinion, the fastest person in this draft. "Low 4.2s" do not exist at the combine, there's a big difference between it and hand timed pro days.
You can't compare 40 times to the 100 meter dash (I believe it was the 100 meter, not the 100 yard dash that he ran...which is better. It's like 109 yards.). Regardless the slowest part of the race is the start, and both runs obviously have a start, so the difference is just in additional full speed lengths. You can't really make a true adjustment without knowing how fast the guy gets off the block.
