Basically, we'd have to pay $16m+ a season for a 30yo CB. Not happening. Be awesome if we could do it, but we can't. Thank god for Madden '10.
First for Aso is alright in my book. I was already hoping the Jets spend that one on K-Dub anyway. If Tannebaum pulls of that trade, I'm building a golden statue of him as a calf which I will worship in my back yard with animal sacrifices.
I was thinking about that, maybe he'll take less money to try and make history. Allow 0 passing yards to WR's all season.
I know it is Al "I just dropped a deuce in my depends" Davis but what chips do the Jets have to make this trade. Furthermore, the Jets couldn't afford him.
No one aside from the Raiders can afford him right now. If he gets moved, any team is going to restructure his deal. The only reason he has that contract is because that was the only contract he would sign with the Raiders and Davis was intent on keeping him.
Al Davis hates the Jets and we were already accused of tampering with Asomugha about 3 weeks ago. Even if we wanted him there is no way he gets traded to us based on those 2 things above unless we really blow Oakland away with an offer.
Was there actually a tampering accusation or was there just a bunch of TGG posters saying there was going to be a tampering accusation? I'm fairly certain Asomugha played the "I was just kidding" card before the Raiders reacted officially.
