Yes I know there is a COD 2 thread already. This isn't about game play.

I bought COD2 for PS3 Thursday. Got it again as a gift Friday. Unfortunetly the person giving the gift ripped the wrapper off it cause it had the price tag on it. Because of Copywrite laws, I can't take it back to walmart. Any ideas?

Get new friends that already know what games you have.

Sell it on craigslist or Ebay.

Easy. Assuming you have the receipt of the copy you bought, bring it back to the store and say it doesn't work. They should replace it with a new, sealed copy. You can then return this sealed copy to Walmart.

Tried it. If it comes in unwrapped, the replacement gets unwrapped. Fuckers.

yeah im pretty sure wal mart has become aware of most of the scams people try to pull on them. a friend recently tried to get them to take back a broken 360 of his with some scam that was suggested to him. they shut it down pretty quickly, but the good thing is they seem to have a rule against calling customers out on that shit so they just say sorry that they can't help and thats it. i guess the lack of a risk makes that stuff worth a try.

Starting on the 2/22 (I think that is the date) Gamestop will be offering 50% trade in bonus on all games. However, the trade in value will probably drop to about $20 base value before the promotion starts, like they always do. You can also check out Gametz.com or cheapassgamer.com and you can try to trade the game for something else.

Go buy another game or maybe DVD you want, just peel that wrapper off very neatly at the top use maybe a steak knife. Then slide the COD2 in it, glue it and bring to gamestop. I did it one christmas and they took it back with full refund.

You might want to buy a few DVD's just in case the first time doesn't work out. You can also try a hair dryer on high heat. The plastic just might melt back together and look like it was never opened...

The Amazon trade in value is about as high as it's going to get. Right now it's $34.50. How the Amazon trade in works: Go to http://www.amazon.com/Video-Games-Trade-In/b?ie=UTF8&node=979418011 and enter the games you want to trade in. They give you a paid shipping label to print out so you can just drop off the package at UPS. You'll get a gift card for the amount deposited into your Amazon account about a week after you ship your game(s).

Also Madden 10 for the PS3 has a trade in value of $35.50, which is an excellent price considering that sports games depreciate so quickly. Uncharted 2 is at $38 bucks.
