How come we always seem to hear from guys who buy corners or EZs when posters do buy PSLs? Surely there must be somebody stepping up to the more expensive PSLs and seat prices along the sidelines.

Maybe we just hear more about the lesser priced ones because they've been on sale. I think those really high-priced PSLs are being purchased by corporations ... maybe in blocks even, so they're not exactly the kind of mom and pop posters that are gonna post on this message board. $20,000 PSLs are at a whole other level.... even my old seats ($7500 PSL).

227 - Am I qualified to be in the Pepsi Corner? I want to be cool, like you guys! ; ) Let's see, I think my ass crack straddles the border of Pepsi Corner, and whatever the f*ck the other corner is. What is it, the Playtex corner?

I got section 301 row 8 & 9 - and chose to be centered between the uprights in case Feeley hits a 70 yard FG from the 10 - so I can get the ball. I figured if I was going end zone I'd be END ZONE all the way. Will they have 200 ft tall screens behind the goal post?

That decision could make me "Corner-less"

No problem. Technically, I'm not quite Pepsi Corner either (Section 342). But what the hell, close enough for government work:

Pretty much. I'd amend that to anything with a gameday ticket price of ~$400+ (Club Prime, Great Hall, Coaches Club) is almost strictly for companies that can't spring for luxury boxes. There might be an exception here and there, but for the most part, the average fan isn't buying anything in those price ranges.

My seats are "Upper Sideline," priced at $105. That's actually a $10 savings for me... my old Mezz seats were $115 per game. $10 X 4 seats saves me $40 per game now. I look at it like getting free parking, gas and tolls.

    Are you kidding?

    Of course you're in.

It's the Tampax Corner BTW. You were close.

I'm in section 215 which is a $15K PSL.... I have to say that one of my major reservations about getting that seat (apart from obviously the cost) was that I would be sitting alongside a bunch of corporates, different people every week... whereas for me a Jets game is about standing up and yelling my lungs out the entire game. I still plan to do that (of course) but I am kind of worried about what the demographic in my section will be.

My main motivation in getting the section I did was nothing to do with club amenities, it was really just wanting a really good view. That's important to me and was the main reason I paid the extra compared to say one of the Mezz Corner locations.

$295 a ticket, hope your law firm / financial institution stays in business for a few years so you can keep buying those seats

Samsung is highly rated and gives a terrific view. It also comes with a DVR feature and side-insert DVD player.

No parking fees, no gasoline expenses and no EZ-Pass charges for tolls. Since you have no interest in club amenities, you'd have "the view" without the financially constrictive PSL straight-jacket imposed by Woody Johnson.

Call them and tell them you've changed your mind, made a huge mistake, and you want your money back. It's not too late. They'll accomodate, and if you really need a good view for a few games, buy a ticket to a game on StubHub or use your brand new Samsung, which is paid for, unlike your PSL annual bill.

I do have a nice Samsung but going to watch the sports teams I root for play at the stadium is a huge part of my life. I really enjoy the experience and wouldn't trade it in for anything.

Then be content with your "major reservations about getting that seat and sitting alongside a bunch of corporates, different people every week... "

Unlike some others here, I say congrats and good luck with your seats. Don't worry about those sitting around you, just lead the way. Sounds like you are a real fan. We need you in those seats. I wish I could do it, but there was no way. Unfortunately most here want the entire process to fail to spite the owner forgetting that it also would screw many fellow die-hard fans. Fact is, if I hit the lottery this week I'd be on the phone to the Jets tomorrow. This thread should also be for those who went for it - not just for the PO'd (Like myself)

I hope the investment works out for you - that means we have a great team for years to come which is something we all want no matter where our seats are. I'm glad that there'll be real fans like you in some of those.

I'll be the first to admit I was a bit harsh on babyknight last night. Fact is, that's a great section to be in. Money aside, I'd be there in a heartbeat too.

But yes, I suppose I'm one of those who is POed at Woody big time. The new stadium is very nice and I'm sure my family is going to enjoy it, but the entire process from start to finish has been frustrating for all of us. Sorry if I take it out on the PSL purchasers... i need to refrain from doing that in the future. They didn't make the system, they're just dealing with it like we all are. I'm sure nobody wanted to spend $7500 for a PSL and $295 for a seat, even though it used to be $400 per seat and might possibly escalate back up there again.

My biggest problem, in a nutshell, with Woody Johnson is, I think he could have done this quite differently if he'd wanted to. He didn't have to go along with whatever the Giants were doing... he could have taken some different routes. The stadium doesn't have to be paid off in 5 years on the backs of the STHers. He couldhave worked his own financing differently or more creatively, and the man already has so much personal wealth that he could have had J&J pick up much of the tab. If the naming rights are such a good deal, it should be called J&J Stadium then, with J&J picking up 25% of the construction costs. The other 25% to the Jets fans would have cut our PSLs in half.

i disagree to a certain extent 227... those who are willing to spend 20k on a psl are legitimizing what woody is doing. everytime someone ponies up all that money woody says see there are people willing to pay this much to me for absolutely nothing. as does the next team that decides what they have now is functional but ahh fuck it would be cool to build something new and make more money, afterall the owner really doesnt have nearly as much skin in the game as they used to. the psl owner does.

jets fans had an opportunity to tell the entire nfl that psls are getting out of control and that the fans are not willing to finance your stadiums so that you can make shit tons more money than you already are.

but fans are fans and they will spend exorbinant amounts of money on entertainment, so psls are here and for the timebeing they are here to stay. even though they will end up ruining the game.
