Obviously this is purely speculation and hypothetical, but if the Chiefs went with a defensive player in round 1 and an offensive line prospect fell to #29 I think it might work out well for both teams:

    NY Jets trade:

    Round 1 pick - #29 (640 pts)
    Round 2 pick - #61 (292 pts)

    Total - 932 pts

    KC Chiefs trade:

    Round 2 pick - #36 (540 pts)
    Round 2 pick - #50 (400 pts)

    Total - 940 pts

The Jets would probably still be able to snare a corner/rush linebacker at 36 and have a better chance of getting another player at 50. Considering the lack of 3-4 teams picking between 29 and 36, I could see a guy like Jerry Hughes who would be a target at 29 lasting until 36. And at 50, with the depth at CB I could see any one of the guys mentioned as possible late first round picks still being available. Just a thought.

I'd definitely be in favor of this. I think moving up with that second pick while still staying in a good range with the first pick will virtually guarantee that we'll get legitimate talent with both picks.

I think this would be a good scenario for both teams. Chiefs need to get immediate starters and having 2 first round picks can help that, and we need depth and picking at those two spots would be great, could potentially get a star defensive end and a great number 2 corner at those spots

    I like it a lot.

Go with Kyle Wilson/Donovan Warren with the first pick and Eric Norwood/George Selvie/Jason Pierre-Paul with the 2nd.

It depends whose available, unless we are moving players I would not exchange picks for picks, I would need to see who is available obviously if on the Jets board options 1-10 are gone then I could see a trade down. But also remember Tanny loves to trade up, so I think that is even more likely than trading down

The Chiefs have been doing a lot of wheeling and dealing since they got Pioli and company. That wouldn't surprise me.

Or Jerry Hughes, and where do I sign? Swap this trade into my mock, and it's wholly reasonable.

It's not bad, but I'd rather use the 1st round trade down to add one or maybe even two picks to our draft. Just like to see us get back into that 3rd/4th round where there's going to be so much value.

I think we could do really well with those picks in the 2nd round, but I'd rather just trade our 1st for a 2nd and a 4th/5th.

I doubt JPP last to our pick at 29 let alone to #50. He's in the top 5 DE/OLB end rushers in this class and is bound to go early.

IMHO, if we trade down we need to add a pick not just flip flop.

Why would Pioli trade with the Jets? I do not think that team can afford trading away their picks at this point. They are fucking awful and need talent in the worst way.

as far as this trade goes its a trade up in the first for KC, and a trade down in the second...

it makes perfect sense for them, and not so much sense for us. they would have to add something to the deal for it to be worth it to us, in other words, say a 5 or a 6....

like others have said, i want a trade back for a 2 and 4/5

This makes zero sense for us. There's no point in trading down if we aren't going to acquire any additional picks.

agreed. We need to acquire more picks in a deal considering we do not have any in the 3rd and 4th round:jets:

Keep the 29 and take a WR, TE, OL or DL. Trading down 7 picks makes no sense unless you have a deep pool of players you like and the Jets never, ever have a deep pool of players they like - which is why they keep trading up for the one guy they want.

The Jets talent acquisition process in the draft is sketchy to put it mildly and leaves them with considerable depth problems.

That'd be a great trade for us considering the plethora of talent that will be available in the top half of the 2nd round. We can get a good WR (Thomas from GT whom I love) and a good DL (maybe even Odrick will be on the board at 36?).
