Wonderlic, and Cutler supposedly benching a ton, is there a chance that Young falls to us? I think there is a good chance that that happens.

If it does happen that Cutler is selected 3rd overall by the Titans, leaving us Young, it would seemingly be easy to rob a team desperate for a QB (like the Lions) blind for picks. Or you could sit tight and take D'Brick and let Young fall through, D'Brick really putting on a show at the combine. Or you could pick Young and then address o line later in the draft.

You would take young if ANYONE is on the board. Keep in mind that we too are going to be desperate for a QB pretty quickly. That is assuming Chad will be gone which is likely. And I may be wrong but I thought it heard mentioned that Brick WASN'T at the combines. Watched a lot of the OL workouts and I heard he wasn't there.

D'brick was at the combine I saw an interview with him. He is not doing the drills etc. he will do that at a later date. I beleive he is getting measured, poked etc.. The interview was cool, he is a nice guy, smart and seems into football. He looks like a mountain. When they got up out of the interview chairs and he stood next to Butch Davis? it was amazing. I still want Cutler, but wouldn't mind D'brick if it played out that way.

I didn't want Young before. Now that we know he has the intelligence of a rock the Jets definitely won't take him.

    LOL!!!
Comparing Vince Young to Dan Marino is an insult to Marino.
I HATE Dan Marino, but I can tell you this, Vince Young can't hold Marino's jock.

Young has got BUST written all over him. You watch, if we take him, 10 years from now people will compare him to Blair Thomas and say Thomas actually had a good career.

Because Cutler benching a ton will make him a great QB, and worthy of moving up?

You cannot play QB in the NFL unless you are intelligent. If this Wonderlick score is correct, Young is borderline illiterate. Stay away. Stay very far away. A player can by on athletic ability in college. Not in the NFL. When you consider that he is as dumb as a doorknob, add in his strange throwing motion, and then factor in his lack of experience running a pro-style offense, that is a recipe for BUST. Let someone else take a chance. The Jets can't afford to take such a risky player.

I'm sticking with my first instinct here. If you get a VERY good offer for the pick, you trade down. If not, you take the Best Available Player. Also, we have so many holes that need to be filled, the odds are that the BAP will also be a position of need.

Okay, if I see this posted one more time I'm gonna flip sh*t. The Wonderlick has NOTHING to do with literacy! It is a test of logic, reasoning and common knowledge. I have a very close friend who is illiterate, yet he managed a 3.5 GPA throughout high-school, got into advanced placement classes, and was my co-captain on the football team and is currently being recruited by several schools including SUNY Albany.

You can be illiterate and be a great football player and a smart person. That's why the players take a logic, reasoning and common knowledge test and NOT a literacy test!

with a new coaching staff, trade down and stockpiling is the way to go. i believe no 1 pick will get us to the superbowl and i believe rebuilding with youth and speed will do us good. plus we cannot afford to have any of the top 10 players!!!!!

You don't even understand why he's comparing them, do you?

I'm with MSU on this one. He probably didn't even get a 6. If I posted that Leinart got a 6, or Cutler got a 5, would all of you be so quick to believe me? I bet you'd all atleast wait until there was some proof. But since it's VY, everyone is so quick to believe it. There's only been one source, and it's not even reputable.

I didn't compare their playing ability, because they play completely different styles, I compared them because the Jets let Marino go because he did so poorly on this thing, and I've seen his ability, and I've seen him will his team to a championship, something that a Cutler wished he could say, to toss out that because of an IQ test is complete silliness, which I have shown that there are a bunch of QBs that have been very good if not great in their careers even with the poor Wonderlic results. Before this came out I had seen a lot of McNabb in him, and even said that McNabb is the most comparable to VY, and he scored a 12. I'd rather work with VY considering that he could be a top 5 talent for cheap and work with him for a year, then ignore his ability because of this. To have that mindset you are already weakening the team
