Colts greeted by 11 fans at airport Posted by Michael David Smith on February 8, 2010 6:44 PM ET When the Saints make their triumphant return to New Orleans for a victory parade on Tuesday, the crowds are expected to be so enormous that the city will be shut down for everything else. When the Colts returned to Indianapolis today, they were greeted by a somewhat more subdued crowd. According to the Indianapolis Star, a grand total of 11 people showed up at Indianapolis International Airport when the team returned this afternoon. The 11 die-hard fans weren't allowed to get close to the players; they were held behind a security fence hundreds of feet away. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!
The bandwagon is empty already, either that or the fans didn't know what time or gate the team was arriving at.
the criteria for not being a band wagon fan is meeting a team at the airport? ridiculous. first of all, going to an airport to meet a team speaks more negatively of you than not. secondly, they didn't win, so what's the point of going? as a fan you accept losses, you don't celebrate them.
Yeah, but you can welcome/console your favorite team. I sure as hell would like to know that the fans are still behind me if I just lost the biggest game of the year.
If the Jets beat Indy and lost to New Orleans, I doubt many fans would be there to greet the loser Jets. Just my opinion. Its funny that the number is 11, but saying that they have a bad fan base because of it is a little much.
I wouldn't go if they win or lose, does that make me not a real fan? I'm rather certain players don't need the consolation of their fans after a loss, and a fans desire to do so or not doesn't reflect their "true' fan-ness. going to an airport is an extreme, and no extreme makes for a sound criteria to judge one by.
I know, I laughed out loud at the image in my mind......lol, You know I'm in Florida, and I always defend my position on the JETS, when people tell me I should be a BUCS fan 'cause I live here......but I give 'em credit, when the BUCS have failure after a road game (of importance) there is always a throng of people at TIA to greet and support them. I cant tell you how many people jumped on the COLTS bandwagon around here lately. one couple we are friends with root for the BUCS, then if the GIANTS are doing good, they root for them, and God forbid the COLTS are winning they swear they've been fans forever.... but I get shit for being a JETS fan in Tampa....lol...unreal :smile::up:
That isn't at all what I said at all. I am giving a reason why someone would go. You are twisting my words.
It's not a flattering crowd, but i imagine most of the good people of Indianapolis work and go to school. I wonder where the ACORN contingent was today?
Florida has a lot of Jet fans, so don't worry what other's think of your team loyality. Before I got married, I lived in Miami Lakes, Florida, for one year, a stone's throw from Sun Life Stadium. I took shit from alot of Phin fans, but most was just minor, good natured trash talking. I wore Jet's gear all the time....I didn't give a shit.
Same thing happens here in Atlanta. I got so much shit after the Jets beat the Bengals and even more when they beat the Chargers.
