btw for people that think adalius thomas may have lost a step....we were all saying that about Darren Sharper last year Just sayin...

For a good price, Adalius Thomas would be an excellent addition to place along side Calvin Pace, it would be an extremely EXPLOSIVE defense
Thats not a good comparison at all. Sharper had a decline in picks but was still playing at a good level and making bundles of tackles from his stafty spot. Thomans has failed to record more than 35 tackles in either of the past two seasons. The dropoff in play from Thomas's previous seasons vs Shapers previous ones is a world of difference. Thomas has produced less in New England than Cactus Thomas ahs produced here. There is not good reason to add him. He'd be a back up for us and an expensive one. I'll pass.
He only played in 9 games in 2008 before he broke his arm, and he had 5 sacks. This year he was used as a strong side backer which is totally different from what he had played in his career. At the right price, I think he could work well in this defense.
He definitely knows the system. Based on what I saw this season, I would have to say hell no to acquiring this guy, but maybe he just doesn't mesh with Belichick. If we could get him on the cheap he would be worth it, but this is one of those players that could go either way.
After seeing how Adalius Thomas underperformed in New England, I don't see how he would be an upgrade over Bryan Thomas at all - especially at his age. If we could get AT in on the cheap, he would be a good depth player, but we would still be lacking a true edge rusher.
People are still overlooking the fact that finishing in the final 8, we can't sign any free agents unless we lose one of similar value. The only guy that could potentially leave is Tony Richardson and I don't think he's going anywhere.
You are the one who is confused. If a player is released by a team, there are no restrictions on who can sign him.
This ^ We can sign anyone that is cut. If we can get him for a reasonable price I'd be for it. Never know who is going to go down, but I don't really think he would be an improvement over Brian Thomas.
Thomas could be a valuable veteran addition for the right price. He fits right into the system, and he might be able to rekindle what he had in Baltimore with Rex.
My point wasn't to make a direct comparison from Sharper's situation to Thomas' situation. I was just saying that a change of scenery could def. help him in a big way. He was a huge playmaker for Baltimore when Rex was DC no reason to not take a chance on him. He's not gonna command 5 years 35 million like he did in 07
It would be cool as shit to see him come to the Jets and shine coming from NE. It would be a great way to show up the psycho in NE.
