So now that we know the schedule for the 2010 season who are the upcoming top wide receivers(that we know of right now before trades/signs of course.) for Revis to shutdown? New England Miami Buffalo AFC North Baltimore Cincinnati Cleveland Pittsburgh NFC North Green Bay Minnesota Detriot Chicago -------- Houston Texans Denver Broncos Also if and i'm saying IF we gain Asomugha what does that mean for Revis? I'm 90% sure, but I think Asomugha stays on one side of the field, and we know Revis will follow his WR anywhere he goes(bathroom, left, right side of field) Does this mean we can become even more creative with the defense? Play a guessing game with the opposing QB? What I mean is throw Revis all over random WR's/TE's kind of like how he did in parts of the Charger, and Colts game. If we can have Asomugha shut down one receiver on one part of the field this means Rex can have Revis run all over the field kind of turning him into a Charles Woodson type of player who does random tasks during the game. The difference is Revis is a much better shutdown Corner compared to Woodson. Just imagine this will allow Revis to blitz, stop the run, and confuse the QB by not knowing where Revis Christ will strike. I smell tons of interceptions, but this is obviously only if we can get Asomugha on the roster. I pray to see the defense with Asomugha to allow Revis Christ to bless the field, and bless the QB with a sack, and Pick 6 to the HOUSE.
the match up against calvin johnson an thamksgiving day could be epic.he's a freakin beast and would be talked about with fitz and a.johnson if detroit was even mediocre
Unlikely, but if that happens I'd like to see some corner blitz. Also, I'd love to see another Andre Johnson DRev rematch with similar results.
this. c'mon guys......the Aso talk is getting ridiculous. Let's wait for something more concrete before we start including another team's player in our scenarios.
Does not matter who lines up across from Revis he will shut them down. Bring on your tall, your fast, your sure handed. There is always plenty of room on Revis Island.
cmon its the offseason lets get creative, stupid, and dream about some stuff. and ya know we do have a 5% chance we get Aso :drunk:
I could understand your "hardon" for him...if he was a Free Agent.....but he's under contract with another team....who has an owner that loathes the Jets. I'd love to have him too.....but it's not gonna happen. time to wake up and smell the toast.
This thread started off good, but then the Aso talk ruined it. Hopefully the next person gets it right.
More Pro Bowl WR for him to shut down. I'll say this much - If Revis matches or bests what he did this year, he deserves immediate conversation into the HOF. To duplicate the best season a CB has had in 15 years is an extremely difficult thing to do. Can he do it? Yep. Will he? How the fuck do I know.
Last year's list was tougher than what next year's list looks like so far. He shouldn't have a hard time duplicating what he did this year. If we can find a competent corner opposite Revis, we should be scaring the bejesus out of QB's around the league. Also, Rhodes covers TE's pretty well so teams will have to go 3-4 wide often to get their passing game going. Lowery is a good nickle and I say we bring Strickland back for another year if he goes un-signed. See what we got in Marques(sp?) Cole and cut Coleman. That's how I see our DB group next season.
New England - Moss x2 Miami - No one x2 maybe Bess Buffalo - No T.O.= Probably Evans AFC North Baltimore - Mason if he doesn't retire Cincinnati - Chad Johnson Cleveland - No one Pittsburgh - Holmes/Ward NFC North Green Bay - Driver/Jennings Minnesota - Rice Detroit - CJ Chicago - make that no one -------- Houston Texans - The Beast Andre Johnson Denver Broncos - Marshall fixed it for ya
I don't think Marshall is in Denver next year. He could end up in B'more. Not alot of hope/desire for Mason to stick around for another year. B'more could also be looking at Boldin, but the fans really want a WR from the draft.
