They're tendering him because he "gets along" with Sanchez??!! well f*ck....I'm a nice guy and i can't hit the red side of a barn with the football either.....give me the contract!
k.c.:hey mark come here, did you see what i just did out there mark:yea tripped over the yard line and over threw the wr by 10 yards? k.c. yeah that, listen the coaches don't like shit like that. mark.k. got it,thanks for the advice kellen.
If only he knew what mountains where... he usually refers to them as upside-down Doritos... PS BTW Clemens is a pro bowl holder..
According to Hutch: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2010/01/ny_jets_gm_mike_tannenbaums_pl.html Anyone who wants Clemens will have to cough up a second-round pick for him. I'm thinking a trade might be in the works here, maybe for a 4th or a 3rd if he can really sell the deal to a team.
I hear ya, but his new salary most likely won't cross a million. We wouldn't be able to get a starter for that money anyways, just a bench warmer. If we trade him for lets say a 4th, that would give us the opportunity to get a depth player for real cheap and possibly a chance at finding a diamond in the rough.
I feel like we will be seeing a lot of "tendering" going on this offseason. Since no one really knows how the FA market is going to work, not many teams are going to let go of somebody right away.
Yeah, and teams will get three franchise tags each this yr and every subsequent yr I believe. We won't be getting any superstars in the FA even in the following yrs. Most of them will get a tag and trade deal if they can not get along with their respective teams.
I'll be shocked if anyone even offers a 4th for Clemens. He's got a 6th rounder written all over him if that. Teams know we're not keeping 4 QBs on the roster again, despite our protestations. This FO did a great job with lower salary FAs this past season, and I'd expect them to get good value again. As far as the monetary amount, Ryan Fitzpatrick got $2 million from the Bills last season for his first year. Even Clemens would get more than $1 million, and likely closer to 2. That's DB depth money right there.
tanny is obviously trying hard to package clemens, rhodes, and gholston together for a future 2015 7th round pic.
I'm not sure what people expect the backup QB to be? Do you expect Joe Montana to be sitting behind the starter? Clemens is fine as a backup as long as he doesn't have to play extended minutes. If Sanchez goes down for the season then we'd be in trouble but if, like last year, he goes out for a game or part of a game Clemens can come in and do a decent job.
I'm going to trust that Tanny knows what he is doing with his overall team strategy moving forward to 2010. Clemens knows the system. He's not a great QB by any stretch.. hell, he's not even good, really. He just... well he holds a damn good clipboard and despite having a yearning to start for a team, he's willing to set aside his dream and backup Sanchez. See... he's loyal to boot. I said it in another thread... I'm completely comfortable with the 4 guys we have on this roster already. 1999 can kiss my @$$.
