you cant do that not enough time to clean up and change the turf

i say we get the thursday night season opener and the giants get the monday or sunday nighter

remember there are 3 prime time games opening weekend

If we had a day night first game Giants would have to go first, with their fancy BMWs, grey poupon and white wine spitzers they would leave the parking lot much cleaner. Us Jets fans with our 15 year old leaking Ford pick-up trucks, Meisterbru kegs and our sloppy BBQ ribs and dogs covered in no frills ketchup and musturd with NY Post racing sections thrown around will be too messy to clean up quickly. Plus the Giants without a running game who get blown out will get their game done an hour quicker with the fans already leaving by 3Q.

Well either the Jets or the Giants that's fir sure.

Giants opened in 09 so it's only fair we do in 2010.

First off they opened it this year. Second, we did ALOT better than they did. Third, THEY AREN't even a playoff team.

We open the Stadium. fuck them.

UGH. I'm so sick of playing the Pats in the home opener. The home opener should be special because it's the first game of the year. Then mid-season, my Patriots hate can get to its highest level before we play them.

I want Favre to be back and have him come to New York the first wk while we end his career in the first game.

I'd prefer New England again. Kick this stadium off right by putting Brady on his ass, and taking 1-0 lead against the only real threat in the division. :pats_suck:

I wouldn't mind seeing the Jets play the Vikings in the opener.

But if Favre is still on the roster, maybe it would be better if we played them at the end of the season when he's falling apart.

Have the Jets play the Giants right out of the gate. The winner gets bragging rights (that's us, of course).

Problem is, they're not on our schedule this year:

But that certainly would have been the easiest solution.

It could very well be SNF/MNF against the Vikings, the "other possible Superbowl matchup" and possibly Favre vs the Jets

Thursday is the superbowl winner's game, so we can't get that

There are still 2 monday night games, that first week. 1 will obviously be a west coast game, but the other game coud be ours.

It would be nice to play the Pats week 1, as WW wont be 100 percent, and maybe we can toss them a beatdown to start our year.

am i the only one who doesn't want a divisional game, particularly the Pats, week 1? teams don't come into week 1 like they are mid season. too many possibilities to be 0-1 in the division come week 2.

Minn,GB, or Balt woud be fine by me. we've already played Houston week 1 (they were the loser of the scenario i presented 2 sentences ago ), and i'm anti div game week 1.

Yeah, but think of it in reverse. We play the Pats and we come away 1-0 in the division. Put someone strong on the other side of Revis and bring back Leon and Jenkins and we can do it. I'm not afraid of the Pats out of the gate next year.

Screw any Thursday night bullshit. Football is for Sunday, not Thursday. Give us a nice sunny, Sunday 1:00pm Opening Day game against Miami off the bat. That'll warm us up for the highly anticipated 2010 campaign.
