I have been to quite a few road games. I have a big mouth and I have never been arrested.. I tend to be loud but respectful and although I have a potty mouth I don't when I'm cheering my team because it's disrespectful to fans w/kids. that said, Watching all these arrests make me wonder what the fuk is going on. Is it the cops just "setting and example" or they don't like visiting teams being loud? I mean it can't be that they did something because I've seen home team fans act so much worse than visiting teams fans....
Well, I don't know because I wasn't there. But I do know that it probably doesn't serve much purpose to draw broad conclusions from anecdotal evidence. Maybe the guy deserved to be tasered. Drunk people are prone to doing stupid things -- especially if they're riled up about their team losing. And I doubt that's any different from one area of the country (or world) to the next.
It happened before the game. But yeah... no one knows what REALLY happened. Even the witnesses for both sides, have skewed recollections of it. Unless their is video somewhere. Cops can be assholes. No doubt. So can belligerant football fans... of ALL colors. Jabba
No doubt. If the guy did throw beer then he's a douche. But the point I was making is that in travelling it always seems the home fans get away w/ more BS than the Road fans... I've seen it.
Nailed it there. You can be as loud as you like ( I am), but very rarely get into trouble if your respectful, know when to shut up, and foremost know how to laugh at yourself. If you take yourself too seriously, you get trousered.
Maybe, I'm not denying that's the case. Generally speaking, I think fan decorum around the NFL stinks. In recent years, I've been to games at Indy, St. Louis, Chicago, Cincinnati, Nashville, Denver, and Baltimore -- and fan behavior at all of them have been bad...particularly when it comes to opposing team fans (either their behavior or how they're treated by the home fans). For whatever reason, I've never found that to be the case at MLB games.
I went to the Jets New England game this year in Foxboro, and it was non stop with people being obnoxious towards me. One guy stuck his finger in my face and chanted J-E-T-S suck suck suck after Sanchez threw a pick. I was extremely close to smashing his face in with my elbows. Another guy was extremely drunk and was repeatedly screaming at like an 8 year old kid wearing a Brett Favre Jets Jersey, cursing at him...some people r just ridiculous. Who screams at a poor 8 year old kid?
I am probably one of many that visit this site daily just to read the discussion that fellow Jets fans are having without ever really posting myself. That being said, I couldn't help myself from responding to these stereotypical, idiotic remarks. For someone who seems to pride themselves on being "educated" and "well-spoken", your remarks couldn't be further from the truth. Rex Ryan has zero discipline and is "just a gluttonous slob"? Based on what exactly? The fact that he had confidence that his team was going to win? You clearly haven't followed the man, with the exception of the dumbed-down mainstream articles that portrayed him as a cocky bastard for doing such things as recording a message to excite Jets fans before their home opener. Jumping to conclusions without being well-informed does not make you as smart as you think you are. You also had the audacity to attribute those false traits of Rex to New Jersey. I know this might be difficult for somebody in the Midwest to understand, but New Jersey is not what you see on the Jersey Shore. We have an excellent education system, both publicly and private (Have you heard of Princeton University?). For decades, students in NJ have placed among the nation's highest in standardized testing. I'm sorry that you think that a couple of loud Jets fans having fun at a bar represents the majority. You come across as having some unnecessary dislike for not only Jets fans, but the Northeast in general. I can only think of one valid reason for this... Jealousy? Finally, you and many of these January 2010 registered posters carry yourself exactly how your favorite NFL team does. In the days leading up to the game, you portray yourself as classy and business-like, when all you're really doing is covering your ass in case you lose. When things aren't going your way, you put your hands up in the air and cry like a baby (And I don't blame you. After all, doing that got Peyton and co. the illegal contact rule change, without which you guys never would have won anything). Finally, if you win, you start running your mouth. I'd love to see how many posts you made after the game compared to before the game as well as the difference in tone. Your team is going to the Superbowl, what the hell are you doing posting unwarranted shots at our head coach and for some of us, our own state? I guess it is true that the rest of this country will always have some type of inferiority complex when it comes to the Northeast. I know there is not much to do in Indianapolis (btw, nobody who has ever been to the museums around here would waste their time at any in Indy), but please just go away. Go back to your Colts board, where you might actually be able to pull off the facade of being "wise and smart."
See! Now you done fuked up because you got bit by the Chuckdog! Who let the dog out!! WOOF WOOF WOOF!!! Bolded for Troof!!! Wow , what a post.
Haha...yours was clear, concise, and u made the point u were trying to make...I think he knows how you feel...
Hey, the Sheep are in the meadow and the Cows are in the corn.. Go do something productive with your time.
Literally noone cares what you have to say you stupid uneducated, meth addict. Why dont you go hop on peyton's dick and ride it until your sister walks in and starts blowing both of you.
