it was a catastrophe...when he went down my nerves and butterflies sort of diminished...kind of telling me, buddy this is done
It just bothers me that he seemed to cure his fumble problem but he is constantly getting knicked up.
Greene getting hurt changed everything, clearly TJ was not at full strength and we didn't get a chance to wear down that Colts D at all w/o Greene.
I think the real answer to all of this talk is this... The Jets needed everyone healthy and on their A game to win this one. The Colts are far too good to lose your RB, ILB, and corner to win. The Jets don't have the depth to cover those holes, and you can be damn sure Manning will find that weakness. Those are not excuses, more like praise for how good the Colts are. You have to be on it to beat them.
hate to beat a dead horse but greene injury cost us the game anybody who watched the jets through out this playoff run knew that shonn greene got stronger as the game went on. While the colts defense was well rested, due to peyton holding the ball all day, greene was ripping off some good runs to start the half. 10 carries for 41 yards is a 4 (decent) average- but he started the second half with two straight 7 yard runs- you could just feel the running game was getting ready to take over the game and in typical jets fashion- lady luck decided to roll over & die during the biggest juncture of our season. When greene got hurt, jets were up 17-13- in possession of the ball at midfield and getting ready to tack on some more points. I dont want to hear how peyton deflated us with the score before the half. Bottom line is the greatest quarterback of all time is going to get his no matter what. To beat the goat you have to either possess a lights out defense or a running game strong enough to keep his ass on the sideline. When greene went out- our only hope at the superbowl went with him, & that is why we lost. Make no mistake about it, this game would have been entirely different with 23 in the for 4 quarters.
At halftime time the Colts only had the ball for a little more than one extra minute. I remember looking. The Jets had run the ball 19 times to that point. Greene's injury was huge. The Jets only ran the ball 10 times in the second half. They had 29 carries, two of which were by Sanchez. Had Greene been healthy the total amount of carries would have probably been 35+.
I watched the game with the sound off, as I had been doing for awhile. What happened to Lito Shepperd? I think if one of the missed field goals was made, and Shone Greene didsn't get hurt, the game would have come down to the last possesion.
