I think starting this thread right after a loss that was on our secondary is a little un-fair because we DID have the number one pass defense in the league but hopefully everyone votes fair.

On that note I've been saying CB all season.

    It is threefold for me.

Still need a #2 corner...a backup DT to be groomed to start....Oline depth as well.

key to improving JETS defense is pressure without blitzing...as we saw today...so we can do more with our secondary when we dont want to blitz

We need a legitimate Safety to replace Rhodes. Unless this guys returns to form from 2 years ago, he has to be replaced.

Lowery, Sheppard, and Coleman are cannon fodder. Strickland is pretty decent, but more of a nickel. So yeah, Jets could really use someone opposite of Revis.

This shouldn't even be a question. It all starts from the battle in the trenches. We have a good O-line but our D-line is below average, especially without Jenkins. We need at least one DE who can actually rush the passer on a regular basis. This team can't pressure without blitzing all out.

Well, we're a 3-4, so an edge rushing linebacker is more important for getting pressure than a pass-rushing DE. Aren't too many of those in a 3-4.

We have Pace and Bryan Thomas. Pace is pretty good, while Thomas is serviceable. We need at least one DE who can draw double coverage to free it up for the rushers behind him.

I want a monster at DE across from Ellis with Douglass as a backup. And this is asking a lot but I'd also like to see Gholston brought back with a more reasonable contract. If we can get OL depth and another CB, that would be great too.

But neither of them are real edge rushers like a Merriman or a Elvis Dumervil, or, going back a little bit, a Willie McGinest.

I don't understand everyone picking CB. When our pash rush is what killed us today. You can't let elite QBs have that much time. Manning even made Revis look bad a few times today.

Definitely a DE then CB. Hopefully the Jets trade down and we can grab both.

Also anyone know what we can expect to get (FA pickup wise) when we let Clemens go ? Since hes probably the biggest free agent we will lose.

Exactly. Our pass rush wasn't good and it hasn't been very good all season. Why do you folks think we blitz so often?

Definitely DE and CB. Offensively, I'd like to make sure we have a lineman or two that we're grooming to start in case one of our guys goes down, particularly Faneca or Woody. I don't know if Slauson, Hunter, Turner or Turner is that guy because they don't get that much of a chance to be an in-line blocker.

Safety and outside linebacker are also two positions where we have good players but not studs, and if we can get someone, I wouldn't be completely opposed.

I definitely want a good CB to go with Revis but a pass rusher is what we need the most. Our secondary has been terrific all season until Mr I'm not Human faced it.

We need to improve the front 7 in a way that improves the pass rush. So, DE or OLB. I'd say improving pressure from the front 7 will make the existing DBs look much better.

Then we need to add depth to both lines.

I'd also like to throw in a vote to trade the SOJ darksiders for some better fans.
