Hey, I'm also gonna be tailgating at the game. Just had a few questions. I figure I'll probably wing it when I get there, but some info couldn't hurt. Which lots are all the Jets fans going to be at? What time will everyone be getting there? Also, how safe is it in Indy? Thanks again for the info, and hope to see people there. Go Jets!!
HERE'S THE OFFICIAL INFO: The tailgate will be held at the parking lot at 500 Madison Ave (Indianapolis, IN, 46225). Its three blocks from Lucas Oil and is $25 for parking. The lot opens at 9am and the guy I spoke to expects it to fill up relatively quickly (just fyi, Qualcomm filled up in an hour and a half and was closed by 10:30). Even if you did not want to start that early, I would suggest driving there early to get a spot and then you can walk around the downtown for breakfast or whatever. REMEMBER, EVERYTHING IS BYO FOOD/DRINK/ETC, however, I am going to further organize chipping in for this stuff for anyone that is interested. If you are interested, send an email to JetsTailgateinINDY@gmail.com (JetsTailgateinINDY at gmail dot com).
Hi, Are they strict in Indy about open alcohol laws. meeaning do we have to have cups for the beer etc. Just wondering. JimJet84
The one thing you need to know is... You cannot purchase alcohol on Sunday in Indiana to carry out of the establishment. So you can anyplace it will be consumed there but not stores etc.
My uncle and I are Driving out to INDY on Sat from Jersey City. Looking for a BIG GREEN GATHERING. Let me know whats going on.
There's plenty of drinking at all of the tailgating lots. Obviously you can't take it in with you, but I don't know if you can have open containers on LOS premises. There's plenty of places downtown for drinking Saturday night. The area south of Washington St. has the most. You're within 2-3 blocks from LOS.
Hey all I'm new to this forum - usually go to thejetsblog.com. for anyone who is attending the game this sunday, there will be a bunch of jets fans at these locations SATURDAY NIGHT: Slippery Noodle (372 South Meridian Street, Indianapolis). People are going there whenever, i suggested around 9 pm. SUNDAY TAILGATE: parking lot at 500 Madison Ave (Indianapolis, IN, 46225). this is really close to the stadium. parking is $25 and the lot opens at 9:30 so it's recommended that you get there early. i'm down with bringing beer and booze. food wise i'd love to chip in. due to my "low post count" i cant view emails or anything. kinda lame? Thanks for promoting my tailgate! (All are welcome obviously) On another note, a bunch of us are meeting to get food at a grocery store in downtown indy on saturday... completely coincidentally, the store is at the corner of New York and New Jersey! (again, email jetstailgateinindy at gmail dot com if interested)
Nice. Omalia's. That's only 3 blocks north of my office. Remember to buy your beer Sat. As you won't be able to get more on Sunday. Jabba
"located at the corner of new york and new jersey" aahahah thats awesome! makes me think of the pixies song monkey gone to heaven "10 million pounds of slush from new york and new jersahy!" this is awesome. there are gonna be a $hit ton of NY Jets fans and i love it Dan

While I've been waiting to get my membership activated, I went over to some Colts fans web sites as well. I found that they are competing against us to win a tempt destiny billboard. Any body here heard about this?
Everybody...BUY YOUR BEER ON SATURDAY!!! I know it was mentioned before, but it needs to be re-emphasized. Also, the best nighlife scene is not downtown in Indy. It's in a midtown village called Broad Ripple. It's 5 miles north of downtown. I suggest taking a cab there. The Revens fans came to Broad Ripple by the bus load last weekend and most of them seemed to love it.
