Why is a shame? You would be an idiot not to pick them. They have Manning and the experience. That doesn't mean the Jets can't have another upset though.
Thank God they are picking against us. The more people pick against us the better chance we have to win.:breakdance: We have Ted Bruschi, Hermie, and Brian Billick in our corner. Of course Greeny picked against the Jets because he knows that if he picks for, they will lose!
The way you turn chronic disrespect into respect is to make people wrong for picking against you. The Jets have too often in the past made people wrong for picking them. That's where the chronic disrespect comes from. All of that said, the Colts are 15-2 and at home against an 11-7 team. That kind of argues that if you don't have a dog in the fight you pick them unless you know something.
Experts? Last Week Allen 2-2 Golic 1-3 Hoge 1-3 Jaworski 3-1 Mortensen 2-2 Schefter 2-2 Schlereth 2-2 Wickersham 1-3 Accuscore 3-1 SportsNation 3-1 Through Playoff Week 2 Allen 5-3 Golic 3-5 Hoge 3-5 Jaworski 3-5 Mortensen 4-4 Schefter 3-5 Schlereth 4-4 Wickersham 3-5 Accuscore 4-4 SportsNation 3-5
I love how the ones that picked against us the past 2 weeks have not eaten crow at all. They go on like its no big deal. Really pisses me off.
I love how Key has been picking us in the playoffs. He always seems so bitter towards us every weekend.
Well, Ditka, Keyshawn, and Chris Carter all picked us. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/notebook?page=sundaycountdown09
My bet is that Schefter knows how to get smacked in the back of the head and get stuffed into a locker.
What entices you...something that looked good at one point or something that is amazing and surreal now....Sound like a blue chip stock dude....your not hitting retirement yet
Good. The less people we have on our side the better. Being a Jets fan as long as I have has ttaught me two things: 1. I'm a tough motherfucker to take all that pain 2. The Jets don't do well when the bandwagon is full.
Imagine how you feel if you are the domanant pick by the "experts" and then the game doesn't start going your way......... then imagine if nobody picks your team and says you will be in big trouble playing the favorite.... and the game starts going your way.... Tell me.......out of those two senarios.....who is playing with more enjoyment and passion if that happens? Who is looser and more risk taking with confidence then? and don't tell me that a bunch of young millionaire players aren't looking at this stuff. Yeah the veterans don't look or care much...............but a good majority of the players are no too far away from their school days.....and are very aware of what the public and media thinks of them and what they are doing... Don't forget these aren't robots playing the game............so the emotions and pyschology comes into play as the game develops....... To be a "crud underdog" playing the favorite team to win it all...and in their house is about as lopsided as it can get. Little expections??.................little pressure...... That can be a huge psychological motivation factor for the underdog.....
the bigger the underdog we are, the better. But in all honestly, if I had to make an unbiased pick on the game, I would also pick the Colts. I feel like the Jets have a very good shot of winning the game, but they should not be the favorite to win IMO.
For what it's worth, Tim Layden & Kerry J. Byrne both picked the Jets to beat the Colts at some point in the playoffs: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/football/nfl/01/07/expert.picks/index.html
