That's actually a very fair comparison. That was the year Brady was just along for the ride. Their defense was really good at creating short fields off turnovers.

Sanchez is certainly just along for the ride, and our defense is terrific, but we are going to need those turnovers to make this thing happen. On the plus side, we have a much better running game than the 2001 Pats.

Pats trolls on this board during your multi-year run and your 18-1 year were just unbearable. It created a ton of resentment. A few more years of humble behavior and maybe things will be more civil.

With that said, the kind words are appreciated, and I'll admit I rooted for the Pats in 2001. The next few years should be alot of fun in the AFCE.

I hear ya man... a fan base is comprised of lots of "types." I'm not always proud of fellow Pats fans, but I've always tried not to be a DB here. FWIW, when your user name is "GoPats," you're in for an uphill run!

My wife also grew up in Queens, so the Jets winning this weekend = nothing but goodness for me, lol!

    Good luck, and have fun.

I have seen your team suffer way too long to hate you guys..hehe.
Dont worry, the rivalry will be alive and kicking next year.
And beating you guys will be that much sweeter. imo...

If you had made it, it would have been nominated for post of the year 4 times.

He sees what I've been seeing. A team similar to the 2000 Pats. Tough defense with a big play corner (Law/Revis), and a manage the game offense that can run out the clock in a tight game.

It comes down to two things IMO. Can Sanchez lead the team down the field late in a tight game ala Brady, and can Feely make the big kick. I think it's possible....

Lois: Where will you go now Mr. Cow?
Cow: I cannot stay here? Peter said that I could stay here.
Lois: Well, sorry, but I really don't see how that is going to work out.
Cow: Oh... well, I see... but again as I mentioned Peter did promise -
Peter: Let me stop you right there. I never actually promised anything. I said maybe if it was OK with Lois.
Lois: It would just be such a huge burden on me. Sorry.
Cow: Oh... well, uh, this is awkward.

Brady only had to lead them far enough to get in range for field goals.

People act like he threw these amazing late 4th quarter touchdown drives to pull out amazing wins.

He had about a 50 qb rating the first superbowl.

And one year he benefitted by Carolina kicking it out of bounds and getting it on the 40.

His legend is there due to a killer defense.

What I am saying is... Sanchez can definitely lead them 40 yards for a game winning field goal just like Brady has. The issue is if the game is that close or not.

Bruschi and the Patriots have been calling Manning daddy for 5 years.

At one time they knew... they had a 3-4 and moved their guys around after Manning had already called the play. Manning overcame this by not even getting in the play he wanted until 4 or 5 seconds to go.

That was the way... get Peyton to tip his hand. He doesn't do that anymore.

    Indy? :)

Spent some time in Manhattan over the summer... awesome city you guys call home. I fit in better there than here... the midwest is full of all these people who want to talk to you and be nice etc. I just wanna walk past them all and ignore them and get where I want to go. NYC was great in this regard :) I'm a New Yorker living in Indy :)

    GREAT pizza!

    new yankee stadium was nice

Bethpage and the Open was cool.

    Cannot wait to go back.
