It seemed like any time a receiver was wide open it was Lito's guy. He is fine on deep routes but seems to get burned on inside cuts.

Last Colts game Austin Collie was destroying him, he better fix his technique for the next game

i think we should see a rotation of lowery in that spot and bring in strickland as well...

Lito is having a very queitly sucessful season but Lowery is more of a playmaker this year

Lito better have a step-ladder next week. He'll need it.

Lito is a servicable corner but is slowing down. To compensate, he's been hanging onto players and sometimes gets a flag.

In all fairness to him, it ain't easy playing opposite Revis. His side is always going to get picked on no matter who the hell you put in there.

the reason this defense has been so good is because even when we get beat we limit the damage. most teams that send guys like we do will get beat for a big touchdown every now and then. what we do is get beat for a 25 yard completion make the tackle and then force the other team to punt anyway.

while guys like lito will get beat sometimes it is very important that nobody in the secondary allows themselves to be caught badly out of position allowing for a big touchdown. so yeah lito got beat a few times yesterday but he limited the damage and bounced back each time to keep san diego out of the endzone which is the only thing that matters in the end.

Revis does his fair share of holding onto players, he just knows how to disguise it or make it look legit. All corners do.

Lito's problem is that he does it in the open when he is already getting burned, while Revis does it up close during handfights in order to stay ahead of his man to stop from getting to that point.

Shepard is still one of the best #2s in the NFL. Remember all the years of David Barrett and Hank Poteat starting at corner, because I do.

Shep played pretty well yesterday. The first half was tough because o all the zone, but I think rex will shift and played some loaded zones to account for the Colts secondary receiving targets.

The important thing to remember in all of this is that Revis was very good in the games where Sheppard was out but he was a monster in the games where Sheppard played. Revis has 8 Int's in 18 games this season and he's gotten 7 of them in the 13 games Sheppard played.

i dont get all the hate on lito by jets fans. The man has been better than good more than a majority of the time hes been in there and other than the deep ball to evans against the bills i cant remember him really getting toasted. The jets defense to a man admitted that they chose to play zone alot during the first half and it cost them. That is why chargers recievers were running open in the secondary- & not because of sheppard playing poorly. When they switched up to man and played aggressively in the second half rivers threw 2 picks- struggled to complete passes & if it were not for a superb grab by jackson barely had over 50 yards in the second half..

Lito is a jet- & the fact that we are in the afc championship game i have no hatred for any of my jets at this point.- except for gholston (even the juicemonkey did a good job standing on the sideline)

Shepperd is playing the role of a #2 CB very well IMO. The only reason he looks bad is because he compare him to Revis. There is a reason why we have the best past defense.

I don't get the Lito hate either..when he is playing he has been very good.

I hope him and Strickland remain healthy against the Colts and in the super bowl if we make it

We lost to Atlanta when we played zone, looked bad this game, why do we keep using zone?

because its hard to match up with a guy like gates or gonzalez in man coverage. they are too fast for linebackers and too big for safties, so to try to limit their damage we go to a zone. we also can't just run man coverage the entire game, part of our defense is giving the qb tons of different looks and letting it all confuse him.

Yeah, we're a man to man defense...thing is you can't just go man to man bc then the offense has nothing to adjust to...have to give the offense different looks.

a #2 corner having a bit of problems vs Rivers and Manning? Wow what a surprise! C'mon guys... cut the guy some slack. I thought overall Lito played pretty well this year (when he played).

We should keep him for around 2.5/3 mill a season for the next 2 seasons...

Sometimes we can't match up man-to-man with every single player... Yesterday, could you see us matching up with LT, Vincent Jackson, Floyd, Antonio Gates and whoever else they had on the field without getting burned?

by the way, i would put lito on garcon (a speedy guy who lito can keep up with, but who doesn't run the best routes) and put lowery and strickland on collie (slower guy who runs great routes) bc strickland in particular is a more physical corner who can get collie off his game. and he has the speed to stick with collie.
