Thomas Jones has been one of the most consistent rushers in the NFL since coming to the Jets. In the past two years, Jones has over 2700 yards rushing, ranking him in the top three in the NFL.

But he's due a big roster bonus for next season, and he'll be 32 by the time next season rolls around. Shonn Greene has proven himself over the past 3 games to be the Jets #1 back, and, if healthy, Leon Washington is a great #2.

So do you resign Jones, sign and try to trade him, or just not pick up the option?

I'd trade him if given fair value. At some point, something has to give - look at LT, he's toast.

I think you bring him back for a season or two if you can. At this point, I think that all the carries from early in the season are catching up with him.

Restructure his contract and let him come back in a limited role.

He's got a knee injury right now otherwise he would be rushing more.

Without Jones, we wouldn't even BE in the playoffs.
They will bring him back next season, AND we will also have Leon back too.
Jones and Greene compliment eachother very well, TJ hate just confuses the hell out of me.
Oh yeah, great timing with this thread.

Hate to sound like a broken record....but TJones better not get a contract extension in the offseason......you just witnessed what our run game is like without S.Greene.....it was futile.

Once again....he didn't hit the holes consistently....even Nantz mentioned that he's hesitating in the backfield. And when contact was made...down he went. I'm tired of seeing that.

I'm not blaming him completely...but he's certainly "part" of the reason why our run game was non-existent in the 2nd half. What a difference Shonn Green makes to this run game though....now unless Jones takes a HUGE paycut....i think the money can be best serviced somewhere else on this team...to fill some depth. Just my .02

now having said all that......i'm still proud of this team....and for what they accomplished under this coaching regime in their first season together.....As Jet fans, we should be very optimistic for the future. We have the QB and the right coach....and an excellent foundation to build upon.

    Go JETS!

    Trade or CUT

he just doesn't do anything good enough to keep him around, plus he's getting old

it's frustrating when he falls down without any contact and if anyone even lays a finger nail on him he falls down.
