We won't know for another hour (about an hour before game time). I think this is a really important decision this week though because of its impact on special teams and their importance in this game. The Inactive list had a major impact on the Miami (Ginn) game. Cole is a serious burner on teams and an extra DB against SD's pass-happy O, so I doubt he's inactive. I think they are more likely to sit Slauson this week. :jets:
With Jacques Cesaire and Kevin Burnett back from injury, the Chargers had to make some choices at linebacker and on the defensive line. That means rookie defensive end Vaughn Martin and outside linebacker Marques Harris are inactive today. Also inactive are Michael Bennett, Buster Davis, Dante Hughes, Eric Ghiaciuc and Dontarrious Thomas. Chargers Inactives
David Clowney is the only surprising inactive Jet today. ...that means we only have four active receivers and that's ONLY if you include Danny Woodhead. It looks like we'll be running the ball, as usual. You better man up, San Diego.
Inactives January 17, 2010 Third string quarterback Erik Ainge leads the list of inactive Jets players on Sunday, according to the team. Our View:Joining him on the sidelines for New York's Divisional round showdown with the Chargers will be : running back Chauncey Washington, linebacker Kenwin Cummings, guard Matt Slauson, defensive end Ropati Pitoitua, receiver David Clowney (HUH??????? WHY???) and linebacker Marques Murrell. http://www.rototimes.com/nfl/player/7269/notes#73105
I'd hardly count Wright as more than a ST gunner. I can't recall him taking a regular season offensive snap.
Yea, pretty much. Wallace Wright and Brad Smith are great special teamers. Smith offers value as a gadget player. I still don't get why Danny Woodhead makes the active roster over David Clowney? Looks like we'll see a lot of 2 wide receiver sets, with an extra tight end. It works for me.
Yeah, that is a little odd. Maybe Schottie has cooked up yet another gadget play. At least with Clowney, hes a speedster and can stretch a field
