Source: No playoff penalty for WR (Source)
New York Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards pleaded no contest to misdemeanor aggravated disorderly conduct this week, was fined $1,000, and given a suspended 180-day jail sentence. But his punishment isn't over yet.

Edwards' case will be reviewed under the NFL's personal conduct policy and is expected to result in discipline, though not during this postseason, a league source said.

Edwards initially pleaded not guilty in November to misdemeanor assault after he was accused of punching a friend of NBA star LeBron James on Oct. 5 outside a downtown nightclub. The former Browns receiver was traded to the Jets two days later.

Even if the Jets win Sunday and advance to the AFC Championship Game, the league will not punish Edwards this season. But Edwards is facing some type of punishment for the 2010 season, and a suspension will be considered.

The NFL soon will review Edwards' case, and make its decision based on the facts of this case and the receiver's behavioral history. Fortunately for Edwards, he does not have any prior incidents on his records.

If he resigns with the Jets he'll be suspended for two years... if he signs with the Colts or Pats the NFL will sue the City of Cleveland for racial discrimination... if he signs with any of the other teams he'll be fined $10,000.00

With that load of cement on the end of his wrists, it is pretty apparent that if Edwards wanted to he would have killed the midget.

Geez they should suspend him for bruising the football. Not for laying off a midget.

Fine at the most, but if he's the SB MVP they'll throw him in the same cell as Plaxico.

If he gets suspended, that's some bullshit. He's got no priors, and has been clean since the incident.

Knowing the way Goodell is I wouldn't be surprised to see him suspended. Then again this is the same guy who burned the tapes that proved one if it's dynasties was cheating.

I love how that Donte Stallworth runs over someone while drunk and kills them, its a 30 day sentence yet Braylon Edwards just punches someone in a night club and its 6x more.

    That's just hilarious, sorry.

Why would it matter where he plays?
