I didn't see this posted anywhere thought I would post it up. Nice to see somebody in the media thinking the Jets can win. I also like how it says that the play of Lowery and Sheppard maybe the key to winning this game. http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/jets/herm_sees_repeat_of_playoff_shocker_24ok3clchpKm8D36GpK47M
I don't really consider Herm as being a part of the media........he's more like that "crazy uncle" who just says anything that comes to mind at the dinner table.
LMAO! that right there is fukin dead on! I did sour on Herm as a coach.. I supported him til he just didn't "Play to win the game".... He talked like he did but they didn't coach like it. But listening to him never gets boring...
I never understood why our win in 2005 was such a shocker. We destroyed the Chargers earlier in the season that year.
I didn't understand that either, we owned them in 05 at home in week 2. We were the better team that day until Eric Barton commited one of the worst penalties I'd ever seen a Jet commit. It was like Gasteneau all over again except we won.
I remember the boards lighting up when all the analysts picked the Chargers, some even suggesting that the Jets had no business playing them in the first place since they were just going to get smacked around. The victory tasted that much better after that.
The shocker would have been next week if the combo of Sperm and Doug Brien didn't take away our spot in the AFC Title Game.
I don't actually know how much Herm is tuned into this game or this team. He keeps talking about "the quarterback" and "the kid from San Jose State". He also says about the problems the Jets will have with the Chargers passing game "you can't double everybody". The Jets can. They double one guy with Revis.
This Jets team is better then the one that won that game. The Chargers are better then they were that year. Will it be considered a "Shocker" if we win? Yes. But that just makes it a whole lot better when we do win. (Oh, and herm is a dumbass)
You don't remember the reasoning? They claimed the Chargers in week 2 were a "different team" than they were at the end of the season. So much for that.
