ohh i missed that presser lol sorry...i just spoke to someone in the booth for the jets...anyway sorry mods close this thread
haha on nyjets.com it has said full and probable for a couple days too but i didnt know until recently too.
Strickland is a really underrated player. He's a solid solid nickel corner. I don't think I've followed a Jets team with this much depth at CB. Lowery has really made me eat crow, but RR's scheme puts these guys in the right spots it seems. I think we have the personnel to match up with the Charger passing attack. Going to have to double cover Gates though.
It would really help this team if Strickland is stouter. For the role he plays he is just so damn brittle. It is a shame because he has the ability to be an exceptional player within this D. He can not cover as well as Sheppard but he is a hell of a lot better at the line with run support, blowing up screens and blitzing. He really brings an element to this D that no other depth player can at this point. To use an apt comparison he is the defensive equivalent to a slot receiver. He is not a starter or a premier player by any means but he adds an element that that this D lacks when he is hurt.
Out of the other CBs (revis) I think the one guy whos due a massive game is Lowery. After Coles scored the opening TD against him, he look mightily pissed off. Heres a player thats still learning his trade and working with one of the best in Revis. Either him or Strickland will be the #2 next season.
lol no the source was someone inside the jets organization but i didn't realize rex had already announced it thats why it was news to me lol epic fail
