The most recent Sports Illustrated has an article on Revis as well. Basically says the same as this one: Revis is the son of God.

Vincent Jackson is like a bigger, more physical version of Andre Johnson. Jackson is 2 inches taller and 5-10 pounds heavier than Johnson. Vincent also has a much better QB throwing him the ball.

But he is 2 inches and 5-10 ponds heavier...............

Too bad he neglected to add 33 catches and 402 yards. The amount the 2 inch shorter and 5-10 pounds lighter WR beat the bigger/taller guy with the better QB. Plus he did it in 1 less game...... why count the game Revis shut this "midget" out. lol

Face it guys, Vincent Jackson is going to have a hard time with Revis. You can imagine a few pounds makes a difference, but it's not the size of his opponents that has caused Revis to be so successful, it's his style of play. A few inches doesn't matter if you can't run the route you want...

Yeah, you know, jeez, Andre Johnson's only been a star in this league for 7 years and Jackson's (although very talented) has been a starter for 2 years. Oh yeah, Matt Schaub sucks too, right?

Not once have I heard "VJ runs his routes to perfection, Revis will have a tough time with him."

No, its this Too Tall Jones bullshit.

Weak fucking argument. I'm tired of it.

Rivers can ignore who Revis is on and check down to the other weapons. Get over it.

Is that whole division obsessed with ht wt ratios and 40 times?

I think it is a California thing, then again I'm hoping that the Chargers would be stupid enough to try to attack Revis

You never know, Rivers is pretty arrogant on the field. He likes a big challenge, so he could try to do it just to prove something.

I'm not checking the stats, but Matt Schaub is right there with Rivers. He's not quite at that level yet, though. But, Schaub is still a top 10 QB in the entire league. I'd have to put Rivers in the top 5 or 6. That's not a big difference. At all. Andre Johnson on the other hand, is in the top 3 at WR, if not the best. Vincent Jackson probably isn't in the top 12.....yet.

I never liked the West Coast for a reason.

I hope Rivers throws a jump ball, and Drew Coleman comes out of nowhere and punches Jackson in the nuts. It would be the best play of his career.

Height and weight are, in fact, important components to VJ's game. Specifically, weight plays in how fast he can get off the line. If he's bigger, he gets out of the hit zone much faster and is able to start his route quicker. This is extremely important as the Jets' blitz packages may give Rivers about .3 seconds less time than he's used to to throw. If VJ can't get off the line quickly via his weight advantage, a post route would be negated by Revis.

In addition, height is necessary, along with is wing span, to have first crack at a ball that either he or the defender can reach, or more likely, that only he can catch, but only on a ball thrown relatively accurately.

Having said that, he has not played against anyone with Revis' intensity as of yet. I doubt VJ will be as productive as Gates, or even Floyd, though they will also have fewer open spaces because the Jets can load the box more because they don't have to double up on VJ as much, UNLESS VJ wins a few battles in the first quarter or half. Probably not gonna happen.

    Interesting paradigm to watch for.

Hall of Famer Rod Woodson just said on the NFL Network that the Jets haven't seen a receiver like Jackson. But I guess he doesn't know what he's talking about either huh?
