Frankly, I'm glad they have waited. Revis should be the clear cut victor now after Woodson and the Packers' defense crapped out.

After revis' performance this week and the beating green bay's defense took today... Maybe some opinions have been altered.

yes but the award is supposed to be based on regular season play but I know that they waited to announce the winner just because it was soo close but I definitely think Revis will come away the winner after that performance...

I can't see how they could pick anyone other than Revis.

i think all the voting takes place at the end of the season, then they decide when to release the information

i think last year the dpoy it was announced before the wild card, don't think it's consistent at all

cuz that clearly states he outplayed Revis. Really, that's a weak argument....

Just because they haven't named it yet, doesn't mean the ballots aren't in. I don't know when the deadline was or is, but they sometimes get the ballots and sit on them for weeks.

Yeah, After how revis shutdown Ochocinco and how Woodson was beat more time then not by fitergerald and his defense crapped the bed.

    Revis - 3 Tackles 1PD 1 INT (ochocinco - 2 Rec 28 Yards 0TD)

    Woodson - 6 Tackles 1PD 0INT 1FF (Fitzgerald- 6 Rec 82 Yards 2TD)

Revis deserves it but won't win it. If the voting was this week, it might be different.

    The voting is over.

It's a coin-flip. If the writers were being intellectually honest about the award they voted for Revis. If they were going the career-achievement route they gave it to Woodson. His stats gave them a lot of cover in that regard so I won't be surprised at all if he wins it.

I tend to not give football/baseball writers any credit for being honest/intelligent/not lazy. That's why I expect Woodson to win. If Revis gets it I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Woodson had an excellent season, but Revis had one of the greatest years by a shut-down CB in history.

I would love to see Revis win but am expecting Woodson. Revis will win next year off this year's performance with even a slightly above average year because all the writers will be able to talk him up and then reinforce their own BS.

This is likely correct. For some reason (must be the INT stat or the lack of blitzing from Revis?) people have a hard-on for Woodson. Revis doesn't have an many INTs because no one throws his way. If you asked anyone who played against them, I think you'd find it was Revis.

adam schein said he voted for woodson because he had more INT's then Revis, so sad. i really hope others didn't do that.
