I don't expect Jackson to go for like 130 yards but I do expect him to make a play or 2 on Revis. The only guy I can think of that is like Vincent Jackson is Randy Moss and really the 2 aren't that similar. Really there aren't too many receivers like Jackson in the league. 6'5 230 and can jump like an NBA Star with great hands. I mean Andre Johnson is the better receiver of the 2 guys but Johnson doesn't get as high as Jackson or as horizontal. There games are really different. I don't see Revis pushing jackson around like he did ochocinco. Plus its not like the Chargers don't face some of the best corners in the NFL twice a year in Asomugha and Champ bailey. Still they say Revis is the best and I can't really say I've seen enough of him to argue. I have seen VJ so it would surprise me to see him get completely shutdown. Then again if Gates and Floyd are getting off like I think they should not really. Plus sproles is going to get some passes his way against this blitz happy D. I think the guy who will make a few plays that is rightfully overlooked is Mike Tolbert.

The Chargers backups beat the Skins starters so 11 is official.

Wow I thought we had some delusional people that posted here. Those guys are brutal. There are like a few decent posters but for the most part just homers. So you don't know any of the players on the Jets D aside from Revis so that somehow equates to a Chargers victory? I love how they think Champ Bailey is on the same level as Revis  Have any of those guys actually seen Revis play? They talk about the 2 illegal contact calls yesterday but ignore that they were questionable at best.

This is the best post though...

Jets tripped and fell into the playoffs, they dont belong here.. SD will have a very easy win at home while the Colts will lose or win a tough game that will severely bang them up.. I dont see the colts beating the ravins..

Ummm dude.... Norv Turner is still your coach. Talk about tripping . BTW haven't we been here before Chargers fans? Remember 2005 when you were so much better then us that we beat you at home twice? I remember the stupidity of Charger fans talking shit in the parking lot thay they were better because they won more games then us.

I was thinking that too. I was like something has to give. Then again if they really are a championship team not really. So I guess we'll see eh? :shit:

The Chargers might be underrated. SdChargeher is a troll though. Too bad. You should have just come here and tried to talk football like a normal person.

I see alot of your guys saying that Rivers is going to attack Revis. I've seen enough of Rivers to know that his cockyness can sometimes get the best of him. I've also seen enough of Revis to know that shoud Rivers challenge him early it could be a fatal mistake. The thing that helps you guys out is that you are explosive enough that even if you get behind you can come back. You also have to think that Cotchery who was Rivers main target at NC State is giving Revis info on Rivers's tendencys and what he does.

Chargers are overrated? And Jets' #1 defense is not? Are you fucking stupid or something?

Chargers are not just a good football team. They are DAMN GOOD team.

I'm in 2 minds on this. On one hand, I want to see Rivers throw a jump ball up for Jackson on the first play of the game. On the other hand, it just seems like a waste of a down. If the Chargers win this game, its going to be down to Gates, Sproles, Floyd etc. Jackson has just drawn the short straw this week with the match-up, and he knows it.

Either way, I think it will be great to watch.

I think Gates is the key, the Jets are physical and I think that will take Sproles out of the game. Floyd is going to have a favorable matchup with Lito but he doesn't send shivers down my spine. The key for the Jets is going to be creating turnovers. Rivers is aggressive and he hasn't seen a D like he will this Sunday. The Jets will try to win the game running obviously. I still think the Chargers will win but I can't see it being a blowout. They may score a late TD at the end to make it look worse then it is but my guess is 27- 13 Chargers.

I was at that game. I'd called my kids on the cell phone so they could listen to the roar of the crowd as Kaeding kicked it through... ouch...

But Jets fans are homers too. I hate that word. I'm proud to be a homer. What else would I be? Of course, having my head up my butt is not my style, so I think calling somebody a troll makes more sense than labeling somebody a homer.

That said, c'mon man! Norv Turner won't be the reason for the loss. Dude's one of the considerations for Coach of the Year. He's got this team playing at peak levels and knows how to prep for a game.

I agree, this game will not be a blow out. We went into Tennessee petrified of Chris Johnson, I believe Vegas had us as underdogs, and we blew them apart 42-17. As much as some Charger fans believe this will happen with the Jets, it simply will not. This is game that is really worrying me, and if we do win, it won't be by much. The problem for us, is the Jets have the tools to pull off an upset here.

My condolences... I was at that game and loved every minute of it though. (Except that Barton cheap shot)

We are homers... but most (unfortunately not all) understand we are up against it big time. We generally reserve troll for Pats, Raiders and Dolphag fans, not our own although we do have some of those.

It's still Norv, one great year doesn't erase a career filled with failing. This is the best team he's ever had but history has shown he can come up with a severe case of fuckitup. If the Jets win this game my bet is because somewhere Norv fucked up. It may be his gameplan, it may be clock management or it may be challenges but I just have this gut feeling. Hey you never know though, if he fucks up and you lose maybe Cowher will be coaching in San Diego next year....

Alot of teams try to test Revis with their top WR early, and it's usually been a sideline route, I can only remember 2 results,

1 the pass was on target, Revis had the WR walled off and made the pick (See Moss, Ocho this week for 2 examples)

2 the pass was overthrown and the qb is lucky that it was (assuming they didn't just throw it away) because Revis had the WR walled off anyways

For a coach who inherited a finely tuned, well oiled machine. That being the 14-2 bolts. He has not really impressed. The bolts have earned their spot and they are a good team. This shall be an epic battle that could end up being one of the greatest playoff games of all time. Being the homer that I am I have no choice but to pick the Jets to come out on top.

We'll see who's overrated after next Sunday, I doubt it'll be the Chargers.

I wouldn't say he will attack Revis, but he will throw at him if the read is there or the safety is cheating. Revis is amazing and I'm not comparing him to these guys, but Nnamdi asomugha and Champ Bailey are 2 pretty good corners that we play twice a year, and Rivers is not afraid to pull the trigger on them when the play shows itself. I would imagine Jackson will struggle this game but he couldn't care less as long as the Bolts win, he's no Prima donna, if he's not getting passes thrown his way he will still show up in the blocking game when needed. That second level blocking pays off big time on screen passes.

Overrated?? They've won what, 11 straight games?

The Jets match up very well in my opinion.. But I don't see how a team with this kind of winning streak is overrated...

Many of those Charger fans sound like babbling retards, complete assholes or both and are not even worth debate. That being said anyone saying the Chargers are over rated please read my first sentence.

Sproles averaged 3.7 a carry and LT 3.3...Rivers was sacked 25 times. Bottom line is if we could get any kind of 4 man pass rush (which I fully expect and doubt the Jets plan to blitz all out all game) this game could be interesting.

There have been several games where our all out blitzes were picked up for most of the game..if that were to be the case..they will eat us up and this game could be a very annoying one to watch.

The author of this thread had the right idea. I just took a look at their season and thought some of the same things he mentioned.

BUT..BUT...the scores they posted are battle tough. They played a ton of close games and won that last 11. They are home. Rivers and that passing offense are tough to stop.

The key to this game..as we saw this entire weekend...is being able to survive the first 10 minutes of the game. We did...the other teams didnt....and to me...thats the key to this game.

If I were Rex..and we win the toss...I would take the ball. Try to run 5-7 minutes off the clock. We get out of the first quarter...we have ourselves a football game.
