...against the Bengals this weekend and likes us against the Chargers if we make it to the second round. He just said that on The Herd wit Colin Cowherd. I'm not surpised by his confidence in us against Cincy but I am about San Diego. He cited that our defense and run game matches up well against their pass happy offense and poor running defense respectively.
Depends who wins the NE vs BAL game I believe. The lowest seed still in it goes on to face the Colts.
Assuming the Jets win... If the Ravens beat the Pats, Jets play SD If the Pats beat the Ravens, Jets play IND
i think he's banking on the Ravens taking out the Pats. I'm taking the Ravens in that game too. They're the hotter team. The Jets have an interesting situation. Play the Colts who come out soft after resting their starters at the end of the year and have a good shot at winning. Or, play Norv Turner in the playoffs and have a good shot at winning because the Chargers never seem to get it done. It could be a Ravens/Jets AFC Title game due to those intangibles. Scary thought huh? But let's all understand that the Jets should win next week, and anything after that is gravy. I think they'll lose to one of the top 2 teams, but you can't ignore the history of the colts and chargers in the playoffs.
Could you imagine a Ravens vs. Jets AFC Championship game.... in the Meadowlands. hmy: I'm inclined to say that if the Jets won their ticket to the Super Bowl at home, in the Meadowlands, that place would implode.
The Jets have the Bengals and then 3 passing offenses in a row. I give them a shot at doing something special given that configuration. The NFL has become very pass-oriented over the last decade, which has lead to the best teams promoting their pass offense and slacking off on their run defense. The Jets now come into the field as a team most likely to suddenly take advantage of that with their great pass defense and great run offense. The teams that matchup best against the Jets are the Packers (#1 rush defense, decent rushing attack), the Ravens (good defense vs run and solid rushing attack), the Bengals (good defense vs run and solid rushing attack) and the Cowboys (#4 rushing defense and solid rushing attack). Assuming we get by the Bengals the odds are pretty good we don't see another team just set to beat us until the Super Bowl.
As said in another post - we could get one more playoff game at home. That would be icing on the cake if that was to happen. Wow. Then again, we do this to ourselves, get all worked up, and then they get blown out by the Colts and we start the SOJ BS...lol We shouldn't even be in the playoffs with a rookie at HC & QB...
Instead of envisioning an AFC Title game at the Meadowlands or looking at what teams have good Rushing D and Good rushing and what matchup is better Indy or SD, lets just take it one game at a time focus on Cincy and a win.
Are you watching game film of the crowd to get ready for this or something? This is the whole point of a message board.
Anything can happen, there really is no dominant team and it's entirely plausible the AFC title game ends up back in the Meadowlands with 2 dominant defenses going head to head.
Bruschi has them going to the AFCCG also http://content.usatoday.com/communi...per-bowl-than-patriots/1?loc=interstitialskip
That would be sick a Jets - Ravens AFC Championship, Riding the arm of Sanchez after throwing for over 500 yards and 5 TDs in the playoffs hey a man can dream right? Realistically it can happen, but the one team i'm nervous to play is definitely the Chargers, 2 6'5 foot WRs along with LT and Gates and Sproiles argh I wonder if our defense can handle all those play makers, it's crazy enough seeing Revis take on Vincent Jackson
