Charlie Weis is joining the Chiefs
Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 6, 2010 6:26 PM ET
Another former member of the Patriots organization is headed to Kansas City.

Charlie Weis has agreed to be the offensive coordinator of the Chiefs, according to Chris Mortensen, who credits team and league sources.

The announcement "could" come in the next 24-48 hours, but Mort says the deal is agreed to.

    More on this story shortly.

Chralie Weis and Haley on the same team? They are going to kill each other before the season ends!

Do they have a similar philosophy?

They shared an office when they were both assistants with the Jets.

I agree with you though, their egos are going to clash constantly. Both are pompous control freaks, neither has the results to match their claims of genius, and both will be unemployed in 2 years.

As an NFL offensive coordinator Weis has very good results. He sucked as a college head coach, but in this role he has proven to be very good.

Charlie Weis looks like he's two McMuffins away from permanent retirement. The guy can't be long for this world.

He did so bad at Notre Dame that he has to take the same position he had in New England before he left, but this time with the Kansas City Chiefs. Wow.

The stress of coaching in the NFL plus Haley yelling at him plus yelling at his POS QBs is probably going to push him over the edge.

The only reason for this could be that Haley is looking to be more of an administrator and manage the whole team, which is actually what Rex did, let the whole team know what he would like done and have them implement it.

Brady can make every OC look good and in 1998 when Weis was OC and had his best year w/ the Jets he was stripped of playcalling duties by parcells.

Thought that was a permanent surgery. Perhaps he should look into other methods I guess so he doesn't wind up in the same boat again.

I'm not sure if it is permanent or not but it definitely didn't work.

Any truth to the rumor that he had written into his contract, the Chiefs needed to provide him with a bucket of herring on the sidelines for every game.

You need to get off you knees in front of Brady. You have it backwards, Weis' schemes of screens and dump passes made Brady look good his first few seasons.

It was actually a 10 gallon hat full of raw shrimp and shortening. I can see where you'd get confused, though. Weis has an extended bucket handle attached to it so it can just be hung around his neck so he doesn't have to bother using his hands, freeing them to apply the mayonnaise and horse radish at will.

Which was why he led a team w/ jabar gaffney and reche Cladwell as his WRs to the AFC title game after Weis left and why he led his team to a 16-0 season and had the best individual season of his career

How did weis' schemes work agains those creampuff scheds that ND faced?

Brady made the Pats this decade.
