bay acted just like any one of use would have done and waited it out for the best offer. plain and simple too much media is a problem sometimes
Not a big fan but only because of his slow ass is a disgrace on the bases. He is suposed to call a good game and has some pop in his bat so on paper he should make us better.
Honestly I don't mean to seem like a troll but I just don't understand Omar Minaya's team building philosophy. He just seems to throw a bunch of money at the wall and hope that something sticks. Bengie Molina calls a good game. It won't make a lick of difference when Oliver Perez is the guy throwing the pitches though.
mets & red sox talking a castillo for lowell swap http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/01/red-sox-mets-discussing-castilloforlowell.html
What I don't understand is why throw at this guy and make due with what you have when the best catcher (at least offensively) in Mauer will be a FA next year. NOt to say the Mets can't sign both but why would you block any chance you have at the guy by signing some past his prime scrub? Shit sign some one year stop gap guy and go guns a blazing after Mauer..... oh wait that's not the Met way.
Obviously I want to team to succeed but my reaction to the Bay signing is lukewarm at best. My wife offered to buy me Mets/Padres tix for next season and I told her to buy some Angel/Mariner tix instead of wasting our money on shit. The only thing going for the Mets/Padres is the stadium.
