The only reason, which is mostly media speculation, that Coughlin would want Sutton is his background in Army nicely compliments Coughlin's eternal delusion that he is, in fact, in the military.

FWIW, Romeo Crennel and Pepper Johnson have both stated they would like to be the next DC for the Giants. Considering that Sutton's credentials are only slightly above mine (and I was not even remotely blessed with the size or strength to play football) I doubt he gets anything more than an interview, if that.

At least, that's what I keep telling myself when I erupt into bouts of screaming, pant-shitting, and OCD-esque rifle cocking (which could be the name of a horrible gay porno starring Dick Cheney and some random dude getting blasted in the face).

 

Giants sure do love going after guys who only coached for one or two years in a great defensive system, instead of the ones who have their own or who were immersed in them for a long time.
