Leavin Friday at midnight from North NJ.. drivin 11 hours... get to Paul Brown Stadium at 12pm Saturday... tailgating and rippping Bengals fans all day then watchin our JETS whoop ass!!!! Staying at a hotel after the game... Who else is as crazy as me and my buddies?
I'm trying man but I don't know if I can make it happen! I'm heading out to salt lake city on wednesday to visit my friends, and I'm trying to see if someone is as fuckin stupid as I am and would be willing to drive 1700 miles. If I was staying here in NY / NJ, I wouldn't even think twice about it.
I went two years ago (I think) for the regular season game that the Jets blew in the 4th quarter. After sitting in nosebleeds at the Colts game two weeks ago I think I will enjoy this one from my couch watching my big TV. I parked behind some warehouse. Cost $30 bucks but it was pretty close. The Bengals fans were flipping me and my 8 year old son the bird as we drove in. The lanes to drive were packed with fans who wouldn't get out of the way for anyone, much less a Jets fan. Most of the stadiums official lots were for parking passes.
I might be going. My friends and I are already going to Fenway on Friday for the Boston University vs. Boston College hockey game. We're really contemplating going from Boston to Cincinnati for the game, it's just a matter of time and sleep and stuff. It's looking very possible.
I'm dying to go but none of my family/friends are crazy enough to accompany me... That drive is brutal.
Yeah the drive is brutal, I drove to Cleveland a few years ago and that was a 9 and a 1/2 hour ride. I can just imagine how it would be going to Cincinnati. Id still love to go if I could tho
i looked it up its only 10 hours, if you leave on friday you can take your time , stay in a hotel , and leave comfotably on sunday. But like most people on this board it's tough to find someone else to buy into that
Living in Ohio, I get to Cincy quite often. I wish I could attend the game, I have a prior commitment. The Jets usually stay at the Westin. The Westin is in Downtown Cincy, at Fountain Square, a 2 block walk (cross over Rt. 71) to the Paul Brown Stadium. Paul Brown is an excellent Stadium with great site views, you will enjoy the game. I been to a few Jet games in Cincy and the Bengal fans are usually very well behaved. I go Met games and there almost as many Met fans as Red fans in the stadium next door. There is always quite a few Jet Fans at Bengal games. Try the Montgomery Inn, great food.........awesome Ribs, good prices compared to NYC. You must try their Ribs while in Cincy. http://www.montgomeryinn.com/ The Boathouse is the closest location, walking distance from both stadiums in nice weather. Located on the river just Northeast of the staduims, follow Pete Rose way and you'll find it. Also, I know the it's freezing out, but Graeter's ice cream is fantastic. There is a location just outside the Westin , at Fountain Square. Have a great time and bring home a win!!!
I will be at Disney, watching the game from somewhere warm--at least reasonably warm. After going to Sunday night's game, actually getting in on time and staying to the end, I think I earned it. Finally feeling awake and alert today, 36 hours later.
I went to University of Dayton, so made that drive many, many times from LI, and if you cruise you can get there in 11 or 12 hours. Was 652 miles from Dayton to Commack. Cincy about 45 mintues from Dayton, on 75. I drove it straight MANY a time, usually overnight. Coming from LI, the worst part is route 80 through Penn. If you get any sort of weather, it can be sorta treacherous. The only fight I ever got in, seeing the Jets on the Road, (Have seen them in 7 stadiums) was in Cincy in 1997. Be prepared, and be smart. Always good to root for your own squad, not against the home team.
Good post. I grew up on Long Island and now live in Ohio. I made the trip from Nassau County to Columbus in 10 hours many times.....Cincy is another 90 minutes down Rt 71. Western Penn (mountains) is terrible in the winter and can really slow you down. I haven't had problems with Cincy fans, just some talking smack, overall they're pretty decent.
Tickets are really cheap on stubhub and they aren't the worst of seats. I think I might make the decision to go if anyone wants to go
