Asuuming Cincy rests their starters and we get an early lead, Rex would love to rest some of his starters too. He already gave a day off to a few last week.

I can see TJ sitting again for Greene.

Tony Richerdson could use a week to heal up.

Woody twisted a knee last week and could use a small breather.

Ellis is getting on in years and could use a half-a-game breather.

Look for Gholston (yikes) to spell Pace and Brian Thomas in the 2nd half.

Revis could sit in the 2nd half also to avoid injury.

Going into the playoffs 'beat up' is no fun, so assuming we can afford it, who else would you sit/play?

unless we have a 35 point lead....i don't expect any players to be rested.

No one's sitting. This game means too much. We'd have to be up 17+ in the 4th quarter to even start thinking about sitting anyone.

You don't really get the option to rest starters when your facing elimination from playoffs. Could you imagine the backlash if we lost against Cinci's second string and Rex was sitting starters. Maybe if we pull a huge lead before the half.

^^^ that's what i'm talking about. If the Jets roll early and often against Cincy backups, say its 21-3 at the half.

we don't have to pull the whole team, just certain players who need the rest or should avoid injury.

ellis - TJ - revis come to mind

Absolutely no one. The Jets haven't afforded themselves the luxury of taking any chances.

If Revis comes out at 21-3 Rex Ryan ought to be fired on the fucking spot.

21-3 at half is not a big enough lead when facing elimination. If we're up 3+ scores into the 4th quarter then maybe.

The Jets should sit Gholston. For obvious reasons.

This will not be a blowout, Cincy is a good team yet people seem to think it is a done deal...unbelievable.

Why in god's name would we consider sitting anyone when the playoffs are on the line?

I don't see Rex sitting anybody until the 4th quarter and only if we are up by 3 touchdowns.

There's a good chance it'll be Cincy's backups. They are not a good team.

I hardly think it's a done deal, but to say incontrovertibly that this will not be a blow-out is equally short-sighted.

these if the jets the get a big lead threads are silly. do the the people that have started these even watch this team? we play up or down to our competition. cincy could throw the local highschool team out there and we would need to keep the starters in the entire game.

Oh, so you're gonna play the randomly paranoid and irrational card. Got it.

There's a reason they're -10. Once again, it's surely possible they'll lose, but there is also a reasonable chance they'll win by 3 scores or more.

Oh my God. I can't believe people are even thinking this. Sit starters? Afre you kidding me? Wow.

Maybe I've just had my heart broken too many times, but this game scares the shit out of me ESPECIALLY if Cincy sits all their stars.

A hungry backup is a dangerous motherfucker in the NFL. Someone who sits behind a star is FINALLY gonna get his shot to play a whole game and shine. He is going to play his ass off to show the world he can/should be a starter someday/somewhere.

How many backup QBs have we lost to in the last two years? (including the Buffalo guy from friggin Harvard this year...ugh, I'm gonna puke).

If the Jet players take these backups as lightly as the media and some fans are, we will lose this game. I've seen it before.

    So sit starters? Um, no.

As a Jets fan...how the hell are you comfortable with a 21-3 lead at halftime? If this game was 31-3 at halftime I'd still be uneasy.

On top of that...this IS a playoff game. We havent earned the right to rest anyone. This game is a red alert!! All hands on deck!!!

If by some freakish miracle we're up 21 with 5 minutes to go and we have the ball in Cincy territory...then we can rest...actually....forget it....we could blow that too some way.

What's more irrational. The Jets proven history or a bunch of fans coming on here...expecting a blowout...and wondering who the Jets will rest once the Jets blow the lid off the game.

Have you been watching this team?

Your being irrational. Don't think about it, just go with the sheep. I fully expect the Jets to win, but it will not be a blowout.
