Last Sunday was tough, we all know that.. but we got some help with other teams losing and we're not completely out yet Here's what I see happening, and remember, this is not based on fact -- just me sitting here and thinking on a hunch: The Jets play the Colts hard in the first half with massive overload blitzes to hint at Haldwell taking Manning out of the game. I see Revis shutting down Wayne and Rhodes playing coverage on Clark, even though Clark will probably run him over a couple of times in the process. Score at half... 14-10 Colts followed by the pulling of all the key starters. Jets play the Indy backups in the 2nd half and squeak out a 27-24 win. I think Sanchez gets a little more freedom in the passing game with our backs against the wall in the playoff race and has a good game: 200 yds with 2 td's and an interception. Jones and Greene combine for 180 yards. On top of that I see 2 of the 4 in JAX, MIA, BAL, and DEN losing against some tough opponents this week. Gives us a lot of hope for week 17 which is where.. I think we blow it. What's become pretty evident with the Jets is their roller-coaster ride of performance. When things are going good.. be it starting 3-0 early this year, beating a 10-0 Titans team last year, going on a 3 game win streak up until last week, it seems like the team gets too comfortable and the floor falls out from under them. It's almost all but certain to me that the Jets beat an undefeated 14-0 Colts team, albeit sans the starters, just to lose the final game at the haunted Meadowlands, erm, Giants Stadium I mean. Don't get me wrong, the Bengals are tough, but the way it'll happen would be the Jets having to win next week with their destiny in their own hands, and losing not because gang green was outplayed, but because they beat themselves like last week. Then come the 'SOJ', 'Woe is us', 'FUCK THIS TEAM' rally calls from the community. So we miss the playoffs and I think we have a productive offseason - acquire a passrusher at the corners, draft Taylor Mays (I'd love to have Berry but that's practically impossible), get some young depth in our offensive and defensive lines. Nothing drastic I think, just patch up and strengthen what we already have. I'm pretty sure Rhodes leaves, I hope Schottenheimer leaves, and pray Jones doesn't. Callahan moves to O-Coordinator, and if we're lucky we pick up an old quarterback that can coach Sanchez on the sidelines or a very competent quarterback coach... Chad since your career's practically over maybe you can leave Miami and come back to New York? inb4 - 'omg another fkn prediction thread no one gives a shit faggot'
I agree with basically everything here. I think we beat Indy and lose to Cincy. We'll lose on a bad penalty or a ST blunder and miss the playoffs. If we get Taylor Mays and a DL/OL like Oghobaase/Wootton/Mike Johnson/Boo Robinson, that'd be pretty sweet.
My end of year predictions: we beat indy and cincy. maimi, jags, broncs all lose one more game. jets-titians-pitt tied for last playoff spot, jet win. onto the playoffs: since we're the 6th seed, we don't have to worry about losing mind bending games at home. thus, we pull off what the g-girls pulled off and win the superbowl. we draft 32nd and take new cheerleaders.
What a bitch franchise we'd be if we used a draft pick on cheerleaders. That's some bitch shit. What the fuck.
Yea I know right? We have pressing needs in the stands. We should be drafting a replacement to Fireman Ed. He is getting up there in age.
