Not really worthy of a new thread, but what the heck.

With Miami, Jags, and Broncos all playing early games, I'll be in my usuall seat by 1pm hoping they all lose.

Then.....drum roll, Jets beat Manning at 4:15. Historic.

How funny would it be if ALL teams (fins, jags, broncs, jets) lose sunday?

We'll STILL be in the playoff hunt the last game of the year with a losing record!!!!

Didn't we let the Rams (8-8) in the playoffs in 2004 by resting our starters in OT? lol

That game for the Jets was a win and in game, fortunatly Buffalo lost to Pittsburgh so the Jets backed in anyway.

Jags @ Pats at 1:00 / Broncos @ Eagles at 1:00 / Ravens @ Pitt at 1:00 ... ALL three teams we need to lose are road dogs, and I'm VERY confident that at least two of these teams wil lose (probably Jags & Broncos --- both 7pt dogs)

    So that means...

If the Fish find a way to lose to Houston at 1:00, we are likely to take the field at 4:00 ACTUALLY CONTROLLING OUR OWN PLAYOFF DESTINY!

    JUST WIN BABY !!!!!

    Broncos-Eagles is a 4:15 start, as is the Jets-Colts. So.....yeah...

The key to all this is the Patriots beating the Jaguars. The Dolphins at least have the Steelers coming up next, so they could easily lost to Pitt. However, the Jaguars play the Browns next week so if the Jags somehow beat NE, we're all but out of the playoffs. It's also key that either the Ravens or Broncos lose THIS week bc they have easy matchups against the Raiders and Chiefs next week.

actually if the jaguars somehow won out and finished at 9-7 and Denver, baltimore and miami all lose 1 game. we get the 6 seed jacksonville the 5th seed..

As for the 8-8 scenario we dont get into the playoffs at 8-8, we lose the much heralded conference tie breaker over the broncos and ravens and common opponents... IF everyone finished 8-8 the playoffs would be miami the 6th seed and denver the 5th seed..

Buffalo's loss occurred during the Jets game, so the Jets kinda quit. They heard on the field they made the playoffs and didn't finish hard. It was not a SOJ moment.

Thank god the Jets are the late game. Keep some (false?) hope alive for a few hours until the Jets break our hearts for good.
