Ok, so maybe a year or 2 ago I made a thread basically saying how I think D'brick is not living up to his billing, well guys I was wrong. This guy should be an all pro this year no doubt. He has put on the weight he's needed too, perfected his form, and has even developed into a pretty good run blocker. So amid this heartbreaking season, here is 3 cheers to the D'brick, one of the top 5 LT's in the league
He has been playing at a pretty high level for most of the season. He even avoided getting handled by Richard Seymour.
hmm looking at that draft 4 and 5, dbrick and cedric benson (i think), people using a jump to conclusion mat a little too soon (myself included in that)
funny how a positive thread gets only love from a few smart fans, lord knows if I posted a negative thread it'd be 5 pages long by now
Ferguson's been a beast all season. He still needs to cut down on his penalties, but he's done a brilliant job protecting Sanchez's blind side. Welcome to life as a Jets fan--most of your comrades are reactionary idiots.
D'Brick's been great all season, he and Mangold should really be our OLinemen going to the pro bowl (not Faneca). His run blocking has really improved and he's one of the elite pass blockers in the game at this point. If he cuts down his penalties, He's an all-pro in my books.
You also posted this like 20 minutes ago... D'Brick definitely deserves a lot of credit though; he's been very good.
I'm still trying to figure out the Faneca part. Is he still getting votes from Steelers fans who haven't realized that he's off the team?
This was pretty predictable from him if you watched his improvement from '07 to '08. I'm sure there are people still wanting to call him D'Bust. It probably really burns them up.
I never understood the hate he got on here sometimes, he was raw but very athletic coming out and he's gotten better every year he been in the league. What more can you ask?
A lot of people wanted him to be a pro-bowler right out of college due to his draft position. Once he started faltering during his rookie season and Marcus McNeill made the Pro Bowl, everyone was ready to jump down his throat. Apparently no one thought that drafting an OL that looked like a power forward would require a little slower progression. D'Brick's game has grown exponentially since his rookie season.
yea thats it, i personally was down on bc i felt like he was too skinny to be good against the bull rush
In typical Jet fan form, Brick had his difficulties in his rookie year. So naturally he is a bust....... The fact of the matter is everything I see, hear and read abut this guy is in regards to perfecting his craft. Brick has improved every single year he has been in the league, even when he had the giant black hole of suck next to him in 07'. He is constantly in the weight room in the offseason as evidenced by the anecdotes from all the coaches and some of the "OTA" awards that Mangini would hand out. Also another retarded example of Jet fans.............. Aaron Schobel. He had a monster game against Brick in 06' and another very good one. Since that point Schobel has done shit against him. Some how this has developed into "OMG Schobel owns Brick", which couldn't be further from the truth. Edit: Also it seems like Ryan has brought out the fire in Brick. That one element was lacking or perceived to be prior to this year. Then again an athlete doesnt work very hard if he lacks fire. Anyway it is good to finally read and see that spirit from Brick.
Really it's funny, everyone was so ready to throw Ferguson under the bus as a young player and now he's rounding into a pro-bowler. And nobody seems to want to apply that lesson about giving a young player time to develop to Mark Sanchez.
