I'll be really surprised if the Jets wind up with another 4-12 or worse abomination.

I'm thinking 6 wins is the floor at the moment. It may turn out to be an easily predictable result after we've seen training camp but I have a hard time believing that the offensive line is going to be horrible like it was last year. We'd have won 6 games easy in 2005 if the line had not totally collapsed on us and turned the season into "run Brooks, run!"

Wow, what a bunch of sunshine homers you all are. Take it from a long time dark sider, we will stink like a dead fish in August. We are putting in a new defense and a new offense. So expect the usual "takes time to learn the system" learning curve. We have a rookie head coach, so expect mistakes to be made. We are going to use more of the 3-4, or so the rumor goes, and we lack a 3-4 nose tackle and at least one LB. Our running back is a huge question mark. We lack a quality TE. Last I checked we are still playing with Moore at Guard, and that certainly is substandard. And finally, we have no QB. Ramsey could never hold down the job and Penny is coming off his second "career ending" surgery.

Could we win 7 games ? In this NFL anyone has a chance at winning 7 games. Could we lose 14 ? Well if you are a betting man we are at least in the top 3 to 4 teams for that bet.

That's a very fair post, to be honest. The Jets are going to have a long season: I would be surprised but delighted if we won more games than we did last year. We still basically have the same personel from last season, and our draft was about rebuilding, not adding, to the roster.

The NFL is a harsh league; unfortunately I think we'll all find that out in most games the Jets play next season.

Very good post, finally a little reality. Sure things could turn out and we could end up a 500 team or close to it but our overall talent has to be in the bottom 5 in the league, it could be very ugly.

Its May, and as you guys said last year people put Jets and Superbowl in the same sentence. The Jets will not be that good next year 7 to 9 wins are you kidding this team is building in the right direction but if they win 5 games I would be surprised.

i don't think we'd pick another QB next year; however, if we're talking about future franchise QB's, i like Brian Brohm. he's got some growing up to do, but that dude has all the tools.

    cheers

I have to believe that if we are looking at a "can't miss QB" we would draft him, but not anything less. Can't miss QB's are not as common as one might think, this draft produced none of them, last draft was the same. I suppose the last "can't miss" QB's was E. Manning, and if not him, Carson Palmer.

I'd like to think that as long as Oakland with Aaron Brooks, San Francisco, and Green Bay are still in the NFL next year, the Jets won't have a chance at the #1 pick.

once again I would love to have Peterson.

John Clayton looks like a withered penis, he can go count the pens in his pocket protector for all i care.

and I have more value in the input a Salisbury steak would give me than Sean Salisbury

Quinn will be great in the NFL, how is he overrated? He is learning under Charlie Weis and will come into the league after 2 years of NFL coaching and playcalling..

I hope if the JETS do not feel Clemmens is the heir apparent (I am fairly certain they do, why else draft a QB so high?) that Quinn is available and dressing in green in 2007...

Another thing as far as what we will finish at is our schedule. i dont think we're going to the playoffs, not with us re-building and N.E. well...still being the Pats. If we do happen to get in, definitley wild card. but with a schedule like we have for the next season how can you say we're coming in last place? F.O. basically said we're in re-building mode, so obviously nobodys expecting us to go undefeated. Thats like someone telling Stevie Wonder he's blind. no big suprise asshole, we all knew that to begin with.

Is it just me or does anyone notice the Lions have been in re-building mode since before the NFL even started? (sarcasm for all you block sense of humor people)

I just cant see us #1 pick.
It could happen but there are some crappy teams out there.

I think we will beat the Bills.
Ravens and Titans we have a shot, but I wont guarentee anything.
Tennessee and Houston we can beat both. but I say we can beat one for a better record.
Oakland will be the worst team in the league(tough division)
NFC EAST toughest division. What will last place in that division get? 6-10 we can tie that atleast.
Lions and Pack we can beat, if we cant it will be a disaster
The Saints could be a top 2 pick agian(their defense is BRUTAL)
SF They have done nothing this offseason dont tell me their draft picks will help them since they lost 4 starters on defense which was still crappy.

other teams that could stink: Miami, Cincy(without palmer), Minny(1st yr coach but easy division),Atlanta and TB(I dont like something about these teams), Zona(this is no suprise they can be cursed), St Louis new coach

then there is injuries if leftwich gets hurt?
or the best possible situation brady gets hurt......
we wont be in the top 3. but darksiders can disagree
