That's what really gets me fucked up. To have that much talent and not foucs on your NFL career is just a waste. Look at E. Smith tackling like a mad dog and playing ST... that's what a football player should be. Rhodes plays without any effort... if it weren't for his freak athletic ability he'd have gotten nowhere.
If Rhodes played like Smith, he'd be going to the pro bowl.... here's something that will piss all of us off: Polamalu gets hurt, opens a spot up for Rhodes on the pro bowl team next to Reed, he pisses it away.
Rhodes has an attitude problem, he thinks too highly of himself, so he gets defensive.... he needs to humble down and stop taking things so personal. Ricky Williams is one of the nicest people you can ever meet. The guy is a gentle giant, literally. He is one of those quiet guys who gives you everything you ask of him. His problem was only drug related, not personality related like Rhodes.
Rhodes just needs to start laying some hits. Otherwise he's been playing well for the most part. He's doing his job, but more big plays would certainly be nice.
Rhodes is a prime example of someone whose ego and attitude get in the road of his ever reaching his potential ability. It is not unusual for self centered people to put themselves above the team. They can't step back and realize there may be a basis for the criticism and, therefore, they never can improve themselves as ball players or live up to that potential. When I think about all the ball players that are just tickled to be on the team at all and how hard they work and their grateful attitude, it makes it easy to see where all the fan's anger directed at Rhodes comes from.
His problem was not being able to handle the stress and pressures of NFL life. The pot was incidental.
Not personality related? Hmmmmm. http://www.adaa.org/Public/inmyownwords/RickyWilliams.htm Sounds kind of personality related to me.
At least Rhodes has good taste in food. 5 Guys is great. Big assed orders of Fresh cut fries, real burgers, all beef dogs, tons of fixins..
Oh .. Ive never heard of 5 guys before. I thought he actually meant 5 dudes until he cleared it up on Twitter a few mins after. The way he has been playing though, I wouldnt be surprised if it was actually 5 dudes.
Not sure if there's any in the City but out here in SE Pa, they're all over. They actually press the hamburgers onsite and grill the dogs almost like Nathans.. If you ever get the chance, check one out. You won't be sorry..
For you West Coast folks, 5 guys is like In-n-out burger (I said LIKE, no holy wars here), and for our Canadian brethren, its like mom's good ol' fried moose pies
Kerry has stepped up his game since the "benching". He has 3 interceptions. Although they are garbage picks, he is always going to be around those balls. I agree, he needs to lay the effin wood on receivers, but I am hoping he has turned the corner. Our defense is awesome, and 1 man isnt bringing it down. Revi$ is an absolute monster, and clearly the anchor, but every person on the defensive side of the ball is doing their job. Kerry has stepped up as well, so lets see him next week.
Sonic is overrated as fuck. That one Sonic out on Rt 46 here in Jersey is always so packed because it really seems like it's the only one around. It's not that special...
And people wanted Arod out of NY at one point in his career too. Blah blah blah. If Rex wanted him here - there's something there. And if something's there - Rex will get it out of him. He can tweet himself out of your hearts, but if this guy makes one single season-changing (or better yet, a POSTseason-changing) play, one important interception in a...clincher, you all come crawling back. Why must there always be someone to ostracize, whether we think they're asking for it or not? In Week 4 it was Thomas Jones which shows you how fast minds can be changed. I'm guilty of Clemens-bashing myself but Clemens is a complete bust to me from everything I've ever seen. (Bollywood was better.) Rhodes has shown something before so it's just a matter of getting it from him again. And for the record - 5 Guys is NOTHING like In-n-Out. There is no east coast version of In-n-Out. There is no Midwestern or Southern version. It does not exist anywhere else on the planet in any other form.
You should have seen that pony prancing around the field after his meaningless garbage-time interception. What a douche.
not something id picture an athlete eating midseason though, pretty greasy and shit, but I guess when your in that kind of shape, one shitty meal a week wont hurt.
Carrie brings it on himself by playing like a fairy then getting indignant and cocky when people talk about it. He tackles like he's afraid to break a nail and he yelled at Dennis Thurman after Rex told him to go talk to him. It's not ostracism, it's fair criticism. The fact that he doesn't acknowledge his shitty playing style and bad habits indicates he isn't willing to address them. There's a lot of unwarranted shit-talking directed at Jets by fans, but with Rhodes it's undoubtedly well-deserved.
