I expect the jets to be competitive in every game this year. I do not think they will win more then 9 games but to say that they will be horrible is a stretch. They will be somewhere between 6-10 and 9-7. They have a lot of solid versatile players who should only get better with good coaching. Mangini and the coaching staff will change the game plan on a week to week basis to take advantage of the other teams weaknesses which was something that Herm wouldn't have done even if he tried. This team has a lot of solid players such as Ellis, Kimo, Brick, Kendall, Vilma, Curtis, Dyson and Coles. It's not like we are playing out there with a bunch of scrubs. I think the media looks at our qb/rb situation and just expects that we will stink. A healthy Curtis Martin is pretty good as a part time player. Ramsey has tons of ability that just needs to be coached up, he has not been in the best of situations up to this point. They key to this year will be the defense and the offensive line. Next year they will continue the rebuilding, 8 more draft picks at the least, more veterans getting cut, make a few key free agent signings.
thats GREAT news. As long as I have been a jet fan, each time we were predicted to do good our season goes horribly wrong. When predicted to be in the cellar we have had an admirable season. As far as I'm concerned I think this news bodes well for the jets this season
Bills are gonna have the #1 pick next year and they are the ones taking Quinn. I see us picking anywhere from 5-20 next year depending on how our oline pans out, where we'd be in a position to pick up a franchise RB (not necessarily Peterson) or WR.
there is no chance we would want Brady Quinn when he just drafted Kellen in round 2 that we traded UP for
Who ever is thinking we're going to win 9,10,11, or 12 games please think again. We are going to get like 3 more wins then last season. Sure we are " better " but we're not that good YET.
There are too many moving parts for us to be able to predict what this year hold: New defense Starting (healthy) QB 2 rookies on the line Old Man Martin Granted, some things could click well and there could be some suprises, but i think it would be safe to go into the year with some reservation about our chances of producing a winning team.
Could not agree more. The hype machine is already building and we're a year away from next years draft. What if he sucks this year? I didn't think he was anything incredible last year. He's good, but not incredible. Product of the system.
find me a flaw in his game, he hes big, he has a cannon for an arm, hes accurate, hes a pretty composed guy and he already runs a pro style offense under a coach that was an offensive coordinator under bellichek(hint:weiss will be preaching to mangini about him if were in position to draft him). This guy will have a better year than last, win the heisman and be the first pick in the draft, to whoever that might be. and jeff smardja(cant spell that) will be a top 15 pick at wr behind only dwayne jarret at the position.
Wow, I knew I recognized him from somewhere. BTW he didnt mean that we would actually go for Quinn, just his nice way of saying we will have the first pick overall. I hate the both of them personally.
Do you really think you will be the Bears this year? Do you have a link, or is this word of mouth kelly?
Screw the Brady Quinn sweepstakes, if we end up picking that high, Id rather be in the Adrian Peterson sweepstakes
Sean Salisbury = The biggest idiot known to man. Can anyone tell me why this washed up backup QB is still on TV?
If they cling to Curtis Martin and Chad Pennington, probably 4-12. If they wake up and start playing some younger, healthier players 9-7...
