Lots of stupid negativity here and hating on KC. Hopefully there are more Jets fans here who support the team and don't hate our own guys. Clemens will have to step up and play a good game and I think he will do a good job. I think Jets will get the win in TB.

I don't understand the sky is falling chicken little types on here. You'd think KC wsas being asked to replace Johnny Unitas or Drew Brees or something. Its not the case. KC will be asked to do pretty much what MS would have been asked to do: manage the game, hand the ball off, move the chains and not turn it over.

Hopefully MS is okay and will be ready to start next week. Smart decision by Ryan.

once again...we'll have to agree to disagree.

I don't see one quarter of play against the Ravens (3 years ago to boot) as a glimmer of hope.....sorry....I have higher expectations for a 4 year veteran.

This is a solid move by Rex. I personally believe the Jets will win against Tampa. It doesn't matter who is behind center. As long as Kellen doesn't turn the ball over, the Jets will win. Hopefully this move is indicating for Mark to get prepared for Atlanta!

That's my fear now... even more than the fact that Sanchez is out for the game. I can see BS coming up with conservative, vanilla plays to keep Clemens as uninvolved as possible except for being a hand-off robot.

Screw that, go with your original designs and let it hang out there. He'll be fine. Christ, if you can't trust your 2nd stringer to consummate the same plays as your 1st stringer does, why the hell have him around anyway?

Dude.. How do you not see that as a viable reason on why he has struggled? That isn't even all that you need to factor in, that is just part of it. The guy is playing against the best of the best, that is not an easy task for anyone. Period. You are asking a lot out of a guy in his shoes, don't you think?

It is easy to be a critical of a guy in his shoes when you don't factor in how hard the game of football really could be at that level.

It is hard for QB's who do play every single Sunday, so why is it so hard for you to believe that maybe, just maybe, being thrown into these type of situations, given the talent he is up against, is NOT just an excuse and holds weight after all?

Say hello to the running game, fellas. Greene is going to get more than the 11 handoffs he got last week with Clemens under center.

We have been saying hello to the running game all season. We are the best running team in the NFL. Its what we do best regardless of who the QB is.

A 4 year veteran of what exactly? A 4 year vet of sitting on the sideline? A 4 year vet of a team that only got his shot behind one of the worst lines I have ever seen? A 4 year vet of constantly having his confidence rattled by this franchise?

I mean come on.. What has he really been a 4 year vet of that makes him ready to go and perform at a high level in any given situation?

....and all the ass-clowns that apparently don't think he can hand the fucking football off 50+ times will have to shut the fuck up..........

This isn't rocket science. Run the fucking ball and play lights out defense. We won't need to throw more than 15 times...and those will be quick outs. We don't need Joe fucking Montana to get that job done. This is Tampa Bay, not Indy for christ sake....Ryan is being smart. He'll need Sanchez a lot more a few games from now....

Nobody is saying he should be the long term answer. He's being asked to not kill us and manage the team to a win over a 1-11 team. Probably on a nice day and with the top running game and D on his side. I think he can do it, don't know if he will but he could. He did it in Miami two years ago with a lesser team.

If Clemens can find his check-downs and not sack himself by tripping over his own two legs we should be fine. Freeman is nothing to worry about and their running game sucks as bad. There is a reason this team has only won one game this season. If this was Atlanta or Indy, I would be worried but I think the backup, shitty as he is, can win this game...provided he doesn't just turf the ball over and over.

Actually, no I'm not...he's a professional QB....if you can't win games...you don't deserve to play. Quit making stupid excuses for him.

if it's so fucking hard for him...maybe he should be parking cars at the Meadowlands instead of taking snaps.....he's not a rookie...he's been in this offense for 4 years.

do you think these backup QBs just sit around and pick their noses like Maytag fuckin' repairmen all week? Clemens is involved in the meetings, the practices....he's up to speed believe me. He's not being thrown into the fire...like you're alluding to.

Career Backups like AJ Feeley and Matt Moore have shown they can win games when called upon.....Clemens hasn't and never will. HE DOESN'T HAVE THE SKILLS TO SUCCEED AT THIS LEVEL.

Excellent. So sit back and bitch and moan and shit talk the team's chances and trash the backup QB. And when the Jets beat TB make sure you come back and trash the QB some more for not playing up to your expectations.

I still cannot understand how no one is willing to recognize the fact that this is a testament to how bad of a starting QB Clemens is. The CS and FO do not go out and trade for starting QBs in two consecutive seasons because they want to fuck up his life; it is because he is fucking up in practice. That is where Clemens has gotten his chance and he is not producing. Two coaching staffs have made the same decision.
