18. New York Jets (6-6) (Last week: 21) (at Buccaneers). For his next attempt at teaching quarterback Mark Sanchez to avoid injury, coach Rex Ryan is bringing in the Pope to show Sanchez how to take a knee. I know it's not news, but I just thought I'd share that with the board. Incidentally, he has us behind every 6-6 team but the Falcons, and also behind the 5-7 Titans who we beat the crap out of some two months ago. I guess the Jets didn't impress anybody by beating the Bills, here's hoping beating the Bucs, Falcons (minus Ryan and maybe Turner), and Colts second string does a little more for our image.
I don't think we beat the crap outta the Titans. I think we got a lot of help from their punt returner, who'd muffed 2 punts on the day. If he didn't muff that second punt, I think we lose.
Our defense played well that game too- Harris and Smith had picks, held Chris Johnson to under a 100 yards and no TD's.
Yeah, I wasn't really saying that we played like shit. We played pretty good, it was a tight game, but if I'm not mistaken, before that second muffed punt, we were down to the Titans, and it was the 4th quarter without much time left.
We barely squeaked by the Titans buddy, there were a couple of key turnovers that won us that game... that was the precursor game to losing 6 out of 7...
Yea and if Ted Ginn didn't take 2 to the house against us we would have crushed the Dolphags ... It's all part of the game
I'm not saying it's not part of the game. I was just saying that I didn't think we dominated the Titans that day, and it's true, we didn't dominate them. We still played a good game though. The difference here is that we fucking dominated the Dolphins that day to a tune of what, 8 yards wildcat offense, 104 yards offense total?? It was something along those lines. And yet we still lost the game that day because of the 2 kickoff returns and the fumble return for a TD. Of course that stuff is a part of the game. You can still talk about how well you actually played though, without making excuses for why you won/lost.
