It works both ways, NFL Network has their celebrity pick game, they want the celebrities on the show, so the catch is they get to plug a show or whatever they are working on. A year or so ago they had Adam Sandler on the network, and he is a big Jets fan.
Adam Sandler is pretty darn funny though, has a track record of some pretty good and successful movies, and it's common knowledge that hes a lifelong Jets fan! i never heard a word about Ray Romano being a Jets fan until they interviewed him in the pre game the other day, and then he was parading his kids around in Kerry Rhodes (good choice) jerseys on nfl network! i just dont think its really genuine, but rather to plug whatever his latest crapola is!
Romano is actually good friends and has worked with Kevin James, another comedian who is a Jets fan. I don't really know if he is faking being a fan for a show, could be. But why put himself through the misery, he could just say he is a Colts fan.
My dad's friend's (whom he has season tickets with) wife grew up with Ray Romano. We have an autographed picture of him on display in our basement.
According to wikipedia, Romano was born and raised in NY. Why would anyone pretend to be a Jets fan anyway?
im not saying hes pretending, but rather annoyed that he's using his Jets fandom to plug his show. the reason i have the gripe is not that i begrudge people for plugging their work, but i dont like the fact that the guy is not funny, his previous show absolutely sucked, so i feel he has no right to plug his new stuff!!! at least if everybody loves raymond was even mediocore it would be ok....
Your argument doesn't make a lot of sense. He's been at several Jets games in the past, including the one video posted above. Also, he could have picked any team he wanted to to get on the NFL Network show. I'm pretty sure the stipulation wasn't "Hey you have to wear a Jets jersey or you can't make picks and plug your show"
FWIW, Romano has been pretty open about being a Giants' & Jets' fan for several years. Continue on being a nonsensical person.
Well considering ELR was one of the top 10 shows in America for 5 years (top 12 for 7 years), I'd say that many people disagree with your opinion. I didn't know that TV was made to be catered to your tastes and no one else's. If people didn't like him and his prior work, then he wouldn't have been there to begin with.
Yeah Ray was actually the worst character in the show, but he was one of the writers anyway. Frank, Marie, Robert, and on occasion Debra made that show good. Then again, even Seinfeld was kind of like that.
